Cook County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant
(EECBG) Program, administered through the Department of
Environmental Control in partnership with the Bureau of Economic
Development, has provided funding to over 70 Sub-Recipients to
complete a variety of projects aimed at reducing energy use,
operating cost and greenhouse gas emissions. The EECBG funds
provide County-wide economic, environmental and social benefits.

Blue Cap is a Sub-Recipient of the EECBG program and is an organization that is dedicated to Blue Cap energy serving infants, children and adults efficiency upgrades with developmental disabilities include: through community-based  Replacing windows and educational, therapeutic, vocational doors; and residential opportunities. Located  Roof repairs; in Blue Island, Illinois, Blue Cap  Siding repairs; offers a wide array of services dedicated to achieving personal  Upgrades to Heating V e n ti l ati o n and Ai r growth and dignity for individualsInstructional Building—Day Care Center Conditioning units and; with developmental disabilities andand Program for Children withDevelopmental Disabilities  Replacement of hot water their families in Chicago and over 30 heater suburban communities. This is one of Blue Cap’s residential properties where a high efficiency, tankless, on- demand water heater was installed.
