Music research into
psychological films
By Connor Flello
• Psychological music is often tense and doesn’t
have a real sense of structure. But it does
create tension and a sense of paranoia. A
good example is from Alfred Hitchcock’s
Psycho

What makes this unique?
• It stands out as there is no real structure to
the music. What can be identified is the
conflicting sharpness of the strings that is
simple, but also the repetition is a hook, it
keeps you on edge.
