she is not busy with her studies or various
school sports activities, she enjoys traveling
around the world and helping others. Katie
Connell often participates in community
service with Rustic Pathways, through which
she travels around the world during summer
to build houses, teach English to children,
and help communities.

humanity. Through its many programs, students
have the opportunity to learn about their role
within the world and recognize that they have
the ability to create change.

4.  In order to maintain its community service
programs, Rustic Pathways develops various
projects that focus on community needs in
partnership with various community
organizations. Volunteers with the
organization are awarded community
service hours based on how much time
they spend with the various programs. The
service programs maintained by Rustic
Pathways focus on five main areas:
education, infrastructure, environment,
community health, and economic
development.
