SUMMARY OF TASKS:
1. TEST and VERSION CONTROL: Setting up a proper work/test environment to review
changes before going live. GIT or other?
2. DELETING MASS DATA: Need to transition this site from the 2012 photo contest to the
2013 version. Site currently has 9000+ photos stored on it. Recommend and
implement process to remove the photo submissions from the 2012 competition while
retaining customer accounts and login details.
3. SPLASH PAGE: Recommend and implement full-screen image display module for
splash page at launch (rotating, different photo each launch), click thru to home page.

4. DELETING SINGLE PHOTOS: When a photographer deletes a photo from their
account, have the credit added back to their account automatically (currently we do
this manually).
5. BIO/PHOTO DESCRIPTION: Simple formatting issue – allow for paragraph spacing
6. VOTING: Currently public voting requires registration and email verification, which was
a deterrent for many site visitors. Change to no registration required, allow one vote per
photo per IP address. Once heart is clicked it should disappear.
7. NAME SEARCH: Currently the Search function requires exact spelling so many
photographers are never found by Search. Change to relax criteria to give user options
in Search (show user similar spellings, options of people with same surname, etc).
Have the search land on the CONTEST ENTRY page not PORTFOLIO page.
8. CATEGORY SELECTION: Upon submission, photographers assign a category to their
photo. Last year about 10% of the photos remained uncategorized. The buttons need
to be mandatory before leaving the page.
9. RESET PASSWORD: Current password reset function only loops around, we have to
re-issue passwords manually. Need to troublshoot and fix.
10. SIGN IN: Janrain needs attention. Need to double check all quick logins. Need to add
Google+ sign-in to Janrain.
2. 11. BLOG: Implement new WordPress blog as subset of domain (www.theworldopen/
blog). Will advise of WP template. We will be phasing out of the current Tumblr blog
(currently viewable from the home page).
11. HOMEPAGE: Implement new homepage design. Will provide PSDs from UI designer.
Need to implement new fonts via Typekit.com account and a new video window.
12. FACEBOOK: Insert a snippet of code for tracking conversion rate from Facebook ads,
will provide.

database specialsist to troubleshoot.] Current unknown issue with MySql looping, site
currently very slow when it accesses full database of stored images and user accounts.
