My first career job was as a proofreader in an agency. I learned about quality control throughout a production process. My second job was in that same agency, but as an account executive. I learned about customer success and how to present ideas to executives. From there, I moved to the general manager role. I was young, and leading people far more experienced than I was; I learned that my job was to remove barriers and trust the expertise that people bring to the table. Not long afterwards, I moved from agency-side to client-side and fell hard for communications.
