• 7-10 days in Chrysalis- everywhere I looked
• Look close there are 4 on the fence on the right
• Dark ones are ready to emerge that day

7. AFTER A REST AND PRACTICE WITH
NEW WINGS~ OFF TO MEXICO

8. THE MIGRATION GENERATION
• They will travel the flyways for over 3,000 miles
• This is the ONLY generation that will live longer than 2 weeks,
it is their job to propagate the species
• They congregate high in the mountains of Mexico
• This is where they will winter over and in Spring they will take
to the skies, breed and travel North to their summer breeding
grounds.
• It will take about 3 generations from this Migration Generation
to make it back here- So I look forward to seeing the Great
Grand Children of my 2016 butterflies.
• Decreasing habitat in Mexico, and decreasing host plants
(milkweed) in North America result in major DECLINE.
