A graduate of California Lutheran University, Christopher Throgmorton serves as the GRAAS operations manager for Amgen in Thousand Oaks, California, along with serving as director of purchasing for Covered 6. Dedicated to his community, the former USMC sergeant supports several community organizations. One organization that Christopher “Chris” Throgmorton supports is Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a hospital that has been providing the highest quality medical care to children since 1964. Affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, CHOC offers a range of specialty and primary care options through its main hospital facility in the City of Orange and a second facility in Mission Viejo. In recognition of the quality of care provided by the facility, CHOC Hospital was recently awarded the 2021-22 Apex Recognition Award by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). This makes CHOC the only children’s hospital on the West Coast to receive the award, along with making it one of only three in the country that have been recognized. AARC’s Apex Recognition Award recognizes respiratory care departments that show high quality patient care and adhere to best practices in the specialty. Created in 2017, the 2021-22 award was given to 26 organizations and recognizes CHOC’s respiratory department for its commitment to professional development, patient satisfaction, patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based care.
