Jordan Dbq Essay
Introduction: Fighting and finishing Israel is of most importance to maintain our position in the Arab
world. The republic of Jordan after the six–day war against Israel had lost a lot of territory including
the west bank, which was a big chunk of land, which Jordan had. According to new testaments
Jordan's King Hussein made it clear to Prime Minister Golda Meir that he must do so as to preserve
his position in the Arab world, and asked Israel not to attack Jordan.
Since Jordan was a part of the Arabic community of countries it had to make a decision to fight with
them or to let this war pass. Jordan making the correct decision made a final decision and decided
that they were not going to attack Israel because they came to a conclusion that if they did they
would loose more land. When Syria went at war Jordan had no other choice but to send men to aid
and help out his brother countries. But as soon as Jordan took the action of sending 500 men and
artillery to Syria and Egypt but every time their men were going take some kind of action they
would acted slowly and cautiously if they could. Jordan as a whole really did want to get into a war
with Israel they just had to pretend they were so, so they would be still in the Arabic community.
Argument Number One: The point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The delegation of Jordan would support any member of the Arabic Union who wants to fight against
those who call their land the land of god when it's actually the land of Muhammad but will not send
a single men in the battle field with out a good strategy plans and allies so we wont send poor men
their just to die. The Delegation of Jordan does wants to make clear though that Jordan does not
want to fight Israel it is an obligation so Jordan could stay in the Arab

'Great Quotes Titled Yom Kippur War'
"There can be no doubt that the average man blames much more than he praises. His instinct is to
blame. If he is satisfied he says nothing; if he is not, he most illogically kicks up a row" (9 Great
Quotes from Golda Meir). This quote explains the naive ways of man and states that when people
are unsatisfied with a situation, they act in violence instead of clearing the cloud of emotions already
hanging over them. This was how the conflict of The Yom Kippur War started, hasty thinking.
Ultimately everyone wanted land. The Ottoman Empire ruled Palestine and the population was
diverse in terms of religious belief. Eighty percent of the population was Muslim and the rest were
Christian and Jewish (The Israeli–palestanian Conflict). For that time ... Show more content on

One of those values is community. Some people battling even share the same ethnic background and
forget that they are brothers and sisters and shouldn't be fighting against one another. When the war
got a little more broad and was israeli–palestinian, the topic of identification comes up;
identification as in religion versus ethnicity. "It's important to know that not all Muslims are Arabs,
not all Arabs are Palestinians, and not all Palestinians are Muslims. Like there's a significant
Christian minority of Palestinians. For instance Palestinian is a word used to describe the identity of
those who have historically lived in Palestine. There were for instance lots of Christians in the
Palestinian Liberation Organization formed in 1964 and lead by Yasser Arafat" (The Israeli–
palestanian Conflict).with all of the identity confusion, it made it even harder for ethnic groups to
know who to trust. This still ties in with why they wanted land. A great example is Jerusalem (The
Six Day War). Jerusalem is the holy city for three major religions; Christianity, Judaism, and Islam
(who are conveniently all part of the war) (The Six Day War). For Jews it was the holiest city in
Judaism. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the designation of other holy sites made Jerusalem
a destination of Christians. And the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque were built on the
site where the Jewish Temples had once stood, so Jerusalem became the third holiest city in Islam
(The Six Day War). now instead of coming to an agreement about sharing the holy land, they decide
to constantly fight over it. By taking part in this, they are violating the principles they decided to
believe in and breaking the rules they must abide by to even claim they are associated with said
religion ( Canne). Specifically for Christians and (to an extent) the Jewish faith "they are breaking

Golda Meir Reached for the Stars Essay
Have you ever heard of Golda Meir? If you have then you know why her name and story is recorded
on the shelves of time. For me, I have only just learned of this remarkable person as a result of my
returning to community college and being tasked with a paper on a woman in history. The analysis
of Golda Meir is an enriching experience, and raises questions and thoughts that cross many
boundaries of geographic location and time about ethnic reunification, the recreation of a nation, and
a perfect platform to see a mired of key words in this chapter's sociology list: ascribed status, role
expectation, role exit, role conflict, and achieved status. Meir's story turns these words into real
world examples and finally leaves the reader, as it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gruel was a great luxury in our home in those days, and I bitterly resented having to share any of it,
even with the baby...I am glad that no one told me then that my older sister Sheyna often fainted
from hunger in school" (Hitzeroth 13). Golda and her family lived better than other Jews due to the
fathers' skills as a carpenter. For this reason they were granted special permission to live outside the
Pale camps. Racism, police brutality and corruption were rampant and this was one of the main
forces that would drive them to flee their home after the Kishinev Pogrom, a three day riot against
Jews where dozens were killed, hundreds injured and houses and business looted. Many believed
was it was sanctioned by the government. Not having enough money for the four of them to leave
together Golda's father, Mosshe, left for America first in 1903 to look for work, housing and to save
and accumulate enough money to get exit visas for the rest of the family to leave. Leaving for
America was perhaps, for them, the best way to break free from their ascribed status.
Kendall also states that role expectation is a group's or society's definition of the way that a specific
role ought to be played (576). For Golda, her two sisters and her mother, Blume, this meant they
would have to go to the Jewish ghetto and live as role expectation called for in Pinsk's "Pale" camp
with Blume's parents (Hitzeroth). Life here would shape Golda into becoming a world

Much Ado About Nothing Beatrice Analysis
The character I play in Much Ado About Nothing is Beatrice. According to the research I've done
(sparknotes) she is certainly colorful and eloquent and has a brain to match her beauty. She has had
a profound effect of people in her society and amongst readers and people of today. Shakespear
criticizes the social norm and rights of the subservient role that women of his time had to endure.
Beatrice is an ideal vehicle to articulate those social injustices that women were forced to put up
with socially, personally and politically. She has a caustic and bitter tone when it suits her. This is
evident when she interrupts people like Leonarto and the Messenger from the begnning of this play.
She can manipulate the English language to her advantage and put others down. She is undoubtedly
no "dumb" blond. She can be equated in what we will call a "spin doctor" because she has great
linguistics skills. She could be revered as an Elizabethan feminist or negatively termed a "femi–azi"
by male chauvinist. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She can be bitter but also has feelings of disappointment when she was initially spurned by
Benedict. This shows that she is still "human" in spite of the fact that she displays a character
slightly short of arrogance. She is an angry woman and a phrase to state this would be "hell hath no
fury as a woman scorned"( look at part where she is angry). She has a false notion that people think
of her very highly. A typical example of this is Donald Trump in the forth coming American
elections. He is totally uninformed about the low opinion of people around the world have of him.(
find example in play). She possesses the sense ability to reinvent herself positively. She slowly but
surely declares her love for him( find

Alice Walker Research Paper
Alice Malsenior Walker was born on February 9, 1944, in the town of Ward Chapel in Eatonton,
Georgia. She was the youngest of eight children and her parents were sharecroppers. When Alice
was about 8 years old, she was playing cowboys and Indians with her older brothers Curtis and
Bobby and was accidentally shot in the right eye with a pellet from a BB Gun. From this injury,
whitish scar tissue formed in the right eye and she became self–conscious of this mark. Because of
her self–consciousness, she withdrew from the world and people and instead found a safe place in
reading and writing poetry. But when she was fourteen, her older brother William gave her the
needed resources and encouragement so that she could undergo eye surgery. Now, there's a tiny blue
sphere where she got shot. Alice lived in the racially segregated part of the south, so naturally she
went to an all black school. Alice attended elementary and middle school at East Putnam
Consolidated, which was established in 1948 by her father, Willie Lee Walker. Because of the area
she lived in, she attended the only high school open to blacks in Eatonton, ... Show more content on

She later switched to Sarah Lawrence College in New York City. While at Sarah Lawrence, Alice
visited Africa as a part of a study–abroad program. She graduated in 1965 which is the same year

lecturer. She also became active in the Civil Rights Movement, the fight for equality. All of her
earlier experiences formed her first collection of poetry, Once, which was published in 1968. Now,
she is better known as a novelist. All of Alice Walker's poetry seems to have something in common
and this analysis will show it to you. Alice Walker's poetry uses anaphora, allusion, and rhetorical

African American Inequality
In the United States, African American faced prejudice for hundreds of years. Even now, African
American are still facing inequality. However, though these cruelties persist, according to Martin
Luther King Jr. and Elie Wiesel, the past should not be forgotten. "Forgetting is not an option,"
states Elie Wiesel, the Noble Peace Prize winner of 1986. He tells a story of a Rabbi who undertook
a sinful mission to hasten the messiah, so was punished and banished along with his faithful servant
to a distant island where they lost all their memories. There they forgot prayers, how to work
miracles, and litany. However, they did remember the alphabet. And over again, each time more

Golda Meir Research Paper
Golda Meir spent her life actively involved in the betterment of the Jewish people, culminating her
impact on Israel as the first, female Prime Minister from 1969–1973. From her beginnings as a
young, Jewish girl living in a political environment where hate against her was encouraged, to her
socialist Zionist background, to her experience of living abroad, back to Israel, Golda Meir
passionately fought for fairness and human rights.
As a young girl Golda Meir was exposed to ideologies and life experiences that impacted her world
view and thus her actions. Her family lived with hatred for the Jews and government–sponsored
anti–Semitism under the ruling of Tsar Nicholas II in Kiev, Russia. After living in fear and poverty,
and at the age of 8, Meir's family emigrated to the United States of America. Here she experienced

that caused the part of Palestine promised for an Arab nation to be taken over by Israel, Egypt and
Jordan. The Palestinians fled to refugee camps. Her fight to try to create a new government was long

Golda Meir Research Paper
Golda Meir played a key role in Israel's history because she was a hard worker with a strong voice
for the zionist cause. Throughout her life she demonstrates courage and the ability to help people get
through the terrors in their life. Meir was born in Russia, but later emigrated to the United States of
America where she was educated as a teacher. This gave her a strong foundation and enabled her to
narrow down the most complex things into very easy–to–understand words. In the United States, she
became a leader in the Milwaukee Labor Zionist Party showing early support for the zionist
movement. Later, in 1921, Meir and her husband moved to Palestine where they lived on a kibbutz
or a collective, agricultural based community. During her early time in Palestine, she established
herself even more as a qualified spokeswoman for the zionist cause, eventually working her way up
to become an active member of the Histadrut, an organization created as a trade union to organize
the economic activity of jewish workers. However she took a break in the mid–1920's in order to

Men and Women Were Created Equ Essay
By: Robert
E–mail: an@cancom.net
Men and Women were Created Equal Men are not superior to women, they are equal in every way.
Although it is true that society has stereotyped women into traditional roles, this preconceived
notion, is totally false. Action to promote the concept of equality in our society needs to be taken.
Women have been fighting for equality for many decades. As a result of this battle, some amazing
transformations have taken place amongst the female gender. Women have become educated and
over the last few decades have started to take active roles and their rightful place in society. They
have made major inroads in working opportunities, including government, science and even the
military. They are reshaping world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2 Another example of women sharing an equal role in today's society is demonstrated in the military.
Today's women joining the Canadian Armed Forces are equally eligible with men for combat roles.
Over 229,000 women serve on active duty in the military services of the Department of Defense.
This monumental step allows women to become takers, as well as producers of life. Women now
have equal rights and responsibilities in the defense of our country. These advances have been made,
not only on the ground but in the air as well. In 1988, Deanna Brasseur became Canada's first
female fighter pilot. That same year, the defense department appointed their first female general,
Sheila Hellstrom. The department also stated that women often do better at riflery than men due to
the fact that they listen to instruction while men tend to think they know it all. A male veteran
sergeant, proud of his work with female recruits, says that: "Today's women won't find anything that
hard to adjust to in the military." The facts are telling a tale. Many doors are opening for women and
they are barreling through with boundless energy and determination. The 21st century is here and
the traditional role of the stay–at–home mother is all but disappeared. Marriage and children are still
signs of the successful women, however women are less willing to accept exclusive roles of
housewife and mother. More and more women are entering the labor market as education has

Gender Roles
In our culture, we have this notion that men are better, more natural leaders than women. We see this
in the fact that we have never had a female president, and that when we have a female elected to be
a judge in the Supreme Court, it's a big deal. Women and girls have always been told and taught to
be docile and submissive, which is the exact opposite of what you want to see in a leader. Because
of this, the idea that men make better leaders than women is a widely accepted fact. However, it is
socially constructed and not true. The qualities that one wants to see in a leader are the same
qualities that our society has forced us to expect from men. A leader should be someone who is
strong minded, has good moral values, has innovative ideas, ... Show more content on

By thinking this, we allow men to be in the position of power, while women are forgotten about.
This is because our gender norms favor men being more outspoken and aggressive which puts them
automatically in positions of power. Men are expected to be competitive and want to compete
among themselves (Lorber). Whereas women are expected to just let things happen, and be passive.
By putting this expectation on women, our society has effectively silenced them from being able to
give their opinions and thoughts without ridicule. Because our gender norms dictate that women
must be passive and docile, they cannot get angry without being labeled emotional, nor can they
give their opinion or state their viewpoints without being seen as

Terrorism And Its Effects On The World
Terrorism consists of different range of illegal violent activities which is aimed at intimidating and
creating fear in people. I would define terrorism as the use of unlawful violence or threat of
unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in
the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological." Within this definition,
there are three key elements–violence, fear, and intimidation–and each element produce terror in its
victims. This paper is going to define and discuss the issue of terrorism and explain the why is it so
difficult to get a specific definition for term "terrorism", while making references to some terrorist
events and organization such as the holocaust, the black September organization, the boko–haram of
west Africa and the al–Qaeda group.
Major historic terrorism/ Mass genocide event has been as a result of differences in political beliefs.
In most cases this involves, the left and right winged ideologies and a disagreement in the direction
of change and the speed at which the change is expected. To the left of the political spectrum we
have the Liberals and to the right the Conservatives. The Liberals consist of individuals who believe
there is room for progressive change, the Conservatives on the other hand would rather maintain the
status quo and if at all a change is required, it has to be a retrogressive change. With the knowledge
of the Left and Right winged, we get introduce

Golda Meir Essay examples

Golda Meir, who lived from May 3, 1898 to December 3,1978, was most famously known for being
a Zionist Labor leader. She served as a foreign minister in Israel from 1956 to 1966. Later in 1969,

Later, she continued the political aspects of her career in Israel as its minister diplomat to Moscow.
She came back to Israel in return and was then responsible for social insurance. Therefore, Meir had
gained her own four–year term as prime minister because of the support of her people. This period
of time was made note by the efforts Meir persued to gain aid from the United States in the form of
economy reinforcement and military support.
On May 14, 1948, Golda Meir had become on of the thirty–eight signers the Proclamation of
Independence in Israel, which was a huge step for the country. The independence of Israel was one
of the most noted events in Jewish culture. Even though Golda Meir appeared very simple –
dressing very simply, always hating makeup, and always wearing her hair neatly tucked into a bun –
she clearly had a signficant amount of impact on the world. Just after the independence being made
of Israel, on the following day in fact, seven Arab nations had already declared war against Israel
and had already began invading the country's borders.
In January of 1949, Meir was still in Moscow, which is where she fortunately had received news
that Israel had won the war. The new state had lost 4,486 soldiers and more than 2,000 civilians, but
it had gained new territory, which also included half of Jerusalem, which was a huge deal for Golda
Meir and the people of her culture.

The Israeli army, Israeli self–defense, is fierce. We are surrounded by enemies who day and night

Israel: Golda Meir
Golda Meir was on Israel's side in this argument. Her goal was to see Israel at peace with Palestine.
She has only sacrificed, during her fight for peace, for a country she is not even from. She fought for
peace throughout her political career, while in the United States, and sacrificed her family when
moving to Israel to help during the conflict. She helped Israel become a country in the first place,
but she still only wanted peace between Israel and Palestine. However, towards the end of her
political career she saw no need to seek compromise while Prime Minister of Israel.

During the war caused by The British White Paper of 1939, that only called for a Jewish homeland
and not a Jewish state allowing Arab officials to control it. Golda emerged as a powerful
spokesperson for the Zionist movement. In 1948 she signed Israel's declaration of Independence.
She was also appointed minister to Moscow, but when conflict broke out between Arab countries
and Israel, she returned and was elected to the Israeli Parliament. The Israeli Prime Minister David
Ben–Gurion sent Meir on a secret mission, disguised as an Arab women she crossed the border to
speak to King Abdullah I to try to persuade him not to enter a war against Israel. She did not
succeed. When independence was secure however, she worked to solve housing and employment
problems until retirement. But, she pulled out of retirement to become prime minister and during her
tenure she gained economic and military aid from U.S. President Nixon. This helped her open peace
talks with the Unite Arab Republic to hopefully put an end to the hostility. Israel's short time of
peace in the 1970s was broken by the 1973 war. Israel won with help from America, however, the
government was severely criticised for the fact that the country had been caught napping by its Arab
enemies. Golda Meir took most of the blame, and permanently retired a few months later.
Golda Meir wanted to see peace between Arab countries and Israel, but failed to achieve this goal.
Though after the creation of Israel, she saw no point in seeking compromise with the Palestines, as
long as Israel was secure. This is either her biased perspective or her extreme nationalism. Either

in the 1970s. Munich and One Day in September is about a specific event and its fallout, but in
Munich Spielberg clearly wants us to apply the lesson of the movie to more current issues of
terrorism and counterterrorism. We need to keep this in mind if the actions we are taking will make
our country safer or is this more about justice than about prevention of future

Essay On Goldie Mabotvitch
On May 3, 1898, Goldie Mabotvitch, sometimes named Golda, was born into a Jewish family in
Kiev, Russia ("Golda Meir"). Due to anti–Semitic persecution, her family immigrated to the United
States and settled down in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1905 (Brittanica). In 1916, Goldie attended
college at the Milwaukee Normal School; during her time in college, she became involved in
Zionism, the concept that the Jewish people should have their own nation state, and later joined
several Zionist clubs ("Golda Meir"). She graduated from college with a degree in Education and
married a man named Morris Meyerson ("Golda Meir"). In 1921, Golda and Morris moved to
Palestine, the former name for Israel, and joined a Jewish agricultural settlement called a kibbutz

While in Jerusalem, Golda was a delegate in the Histadrut Trade Union, which helped spur
economic development amongst the hundreds of other kibbutzes throughout Palestine ("Golda

international agreement on the safe refuge of Jews away from anti–Semitic persecution, to no avail
("Golda Meir (1898–1978)"). Golda stated, "There is only one thing I hope to see before I die and
that is that my people should not need expressions of sympathy anymore ("Golda Meir (1898–

not approving an agreement ("Golda Meir (1898–1978)"). However, the genocide brought against

Interrupted Yom Kippr
The War That Interrupted Yom Kippur The 1973 Arab–Israeli war (known in Israel as Yom Kippur
War) was a battle between Israel and numerous Arab countries. Israel, way smaller in numbers was
celebrating one of their main holidays, Yom Kippur. Arab troops came swarming in and Israel had
no idea it was coming. After about 20 days, Israel won the war, but it came with heavy casualties
(From the War of Attrition to the 1973 Arab–Israeli War). Six years earlier, in 1967, Israel had
embarrassed the Arabs in the Six Day War. After the war, Israel had four times the amount of land as
they did before. They took territory from Egypt including the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip,
they took the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and Syria lost the Golan Heights. In 1970,
Anwar el–Sadat became president of Egypt. He wanted peace with Israel, but after the war in 1967,
it was unlikely that Israel would do anything to favor Egypt. Sadat decided to attack Israel, and no

The Israelis criticized the government because of their lack of preparedness. The next year, in April
1974, Israel's prime minister, Golda Meir, stepped down. Even though Egypt had suffered another
defeat, they received what they wanted. In 1982, the peace treaty was signed and Egypt received the
last part of the Sinai Peninsula. Syria, on the other hand, was not as lucky. The Egyptian–Israeli
cease–fire gave Syria the defeat and Israel gained more territory in the Golan Heights (Yom Kippur
War: Aftermath). The war between Israel and the surrounding Arab countries did not even last a
month, but a lot went on in it. Many countries got involved, but there was not much land that was
gained. Egypt and Israel decided to get a peace agreement and Egypt actually received some land
from it. Syria joined Egypt in the war, but they were not as lucky as Egypt. Israel may have been

A Brief Story of Yitzhak Rabin
1. Introduction On the evening of November 4, 1995, it was the time to celebrate the joyfully
weekend. But for the peace–loving people, particularly for the peace–loving people in Israel and
Arab, it was actually a black weekend. It was precisely that evening, one of the creators of
Palestinian–Israeli peace, who was known as peaceful warrior, Yitzhak Rabin, Premier of Israeli,
was murdered by an assassin. The world had shocked, his imposing and heartrending life, became
the focal point of the people immediately. All the peace–lovers were sorrowful for his death. They
burst into tears for him, prayed for him, wished his soul to be serene in heaven. A peace dove had

In July 1976, Israeli hostages on a plane hijacked. But they were rescued from Uganda by the I.D.F.
This was a great success in the war with terrorists. It demonstrated that Israel refused to capitulate to
terrorism. In April 1977, Yitzhak Rabin resigned as prime minister in the wake of the revelation that
his wife, Leah, retained a bank account in the U.S. from the time her husband had served as
ambassador there. (At the time, operating a foreign currency account was illegal under Israeli
currency law.) (Yang Mansu, 2007) 2.8 As Minister of Defense In 1984, the national government of
Israel agreed to elect Rabin as minister of defense, until the failure of the second unity government
in 1990. One of his tasks was disengaging the I.D.F. from a war of attrition in Lebanon. The two
sides of the war established a narrow zone of security in southern Lebanon. He also canceled the
Lavi aircraft project which developed by Israel Aircraft Industries. Also, he cut off part of the
defense budget as part of efforts to help the economy and halt inflation. In December 1987, the
outburst of the Intifada (the Palestinian uprising in the occupied territories) caught Israel by surprise.
Rapidly, Israel escalated to alarming proportions. Rabin initially adopted an iron–fist policy to

The Privilege Of Youth Analysis
The book, The Privilege Of Youth goes way back into the 1970's in California. However, since Dave
(The author's biography of his teen years) continued to move through the foster care system,he
repeatedly got transferred to different areas in California.
The book, The Privilege Of Youth is a book that shows young teen readers like, The Golda Meir
High School Community, the reality of being a teen going through the foster care system. In the
beginning, Dave (The main character) was only in his teen years going through one of the most
harsh conditions any teen is likely to face. (Coming of age experience) He got bullied, and
continued to be assaulted.
As the story continues to progress, Dave gets transferred to a new school and a new family

However, small children can watch it, but please be aware that it's very intense.
This movie is very important because it exposes children to real world situations. It offers guidance
and continues to prompt teens in the right direction. In addition, it relates to teens on a personal
level. Therefore, if teens are exposed to this movie, it will benefit them and influence teens to do
what's right, which will eventually lead to more teens being successful in the future.
I, personally, joyed the book, The Privilege of Youth. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars because it
shows young teen readers, like myself the reality of going through a coming of age experience, and
most importantly how to overcome it. I liked everything about the book, from the complex ideas to
the majority of the conflicts that surrounded the main character. The characters really made the
theme pure and vital. In addition, I loved all the imagery that played apart in the book, because it
portrayed a feeling that I was in the book. It made sense and had me thinking higher level, which
made me produce a lot of great questions. The ideal audience for this book, would be teens. (13–19)

Essay about Women's Rights Movement
Tuesday, November 2, 1920, the day women voted for the first time. The New York Times called it,
"The greatest voting day in the city's history." It was a wonderful day for women all across the
country. All of their hard work had finally paid off. The Women's Rights Movement changed the
way women were seen. Before the passage of the 19th Amendment, women in many states were not
given the right to vote. The Women's Rights movement was caused by many factors, greatly
impacted the society of the early 1900s and changed American society forever.
Women were traditionally seen as the weaker sex – second–class citizens with a lower social status
than men. A woman's place was in the home. Men did the "heavier" labor, like plowing and hunting.

She modeled her Declaration of Sentiments after the Declaration of Independence. The first line of
the Declaration of Sentiments and the Declaration of Independence only differed in two words, "and

signers to the Declaration of Sentiments, Charlotte Woodward became the only signer to see her
dream come alive at the ballot box. To discourage the women from taking any further actions,
newspapers across the country published and ridiculed the Declaration and its signers. Embarrassed
by the bad publicity, several women decided to withdraw their name. However, most women were
still willing to fight for their cause. The tea party on that hot summer afternoon started an ongoing
fight for women's equality.
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United

Women and the Holocaust
The Jewish female is like the ovule of a flower, it spreads its seeds to create future generations. It is
known that the true root of a Jewish person lies in the hands of his/her mother. As it was once said
by Golda Meir, “To be successful, a woman has to be much better at her job than a man.
(Golda Meir Quotes par. 1). And in fact it is true, that women had to be better than man to survive
the holocaust, but not only to survive the holocaust but to live on to tell the stories, and to spread
Judaism. Although every Jewish person was equally a victim in the genocide of the holocaust, the
Jewish women were one of the main targets. This is because the Jewish women were connected to ...

Holocaust par.7) The women would do anything they could to protect their innocence and their life.
The best chance for survival was escaping through the forest. But many Jewish men and women
would hide with other non–Jewish families to hide from the Nazis. In one case a German
entrepreneur by the name of Oskar Schindler recruited a list of Jewish investors, business men and
labor workers to run his company. He saved more than 1000 Jewish men and women from death. It
was harder for women to survive than men because the strength difference and ability to do hard
labor. Although women do endure a lot of pain, example: giving birth, they still lacked the male
character traits of being strong and muscular. Many great women harnessed power and came forth to
change the world with their experience and knowledge of racial hatred. If it was not for the women
of the holocaust, the Jewish people would not have a safe haven to visit, and live, for Israel was their
path and their destiny.

Golda Meeir Thesis
Intro & thesis:
Jesse Owens once stated "We all have dreams. But in order to make those dreams a reality, it takes
an awful lot of determination, self discipline, and effort." To change the world, one must be strong–
willed, have self respect, and put in much toil. Golda Mabovitch Meyerson or Golda Meir was born
in Ukraine on May 3rd, 1898. She was a politician, Zionist, and an educator. She created a Jewish
homeland (Taitz & Henry, 1996), was Instrumental in the politics of Israel, and climbed the political
ladder to become Israel's first woman Prime Minister and only the worlds fourth woman in power.
She illuminated the world by giving the Jews a chance to live without persecution and women a
chance to see what they can do other than traditional woman jobs.

Although Golda Meir is not a very popular name you would hear every day, she most certainly did
enough to deserve recognition. She helped create a Jewish homeland (Taitz & Henry, 1996). In the
Torah, the Jewish bible, God promised the Israelites, old world Jews, a Promised Land or Eretz
Israel. Since that was probably around more than 5,000 years ago, and jews still didn't have their
promised land, Meir decided to take some action. Eventually, after some time and ... Show more

was still at her sister Sheyna's house, she listened to Zionist and anarchists "whose debates helped
refine Golda's political philosophy." (Pogrebin, 2009). Pogroms, Organized massacre of a particular

Heights to coincide with Egypt's attack. The Syrians were able to make headway into Israeli
territory, but within the span of three days Israel was also able to push Syria out of their territory and
back behind the cease fire line. The Israeli's then initiated a four–day counterstrike on the Egypt's
infrastructure. The Israeli Army first attacked the Syrian city of Damascus. Sadat ordered his troops
to go on the offensive in order to capture two more strategic areas in the Sinai Peninsula. Sadat had
hoped that doing this would make his position stronger when it came time for peace negotiations.
The attack by the Egyptian's was quickly put down. The Israeli's counterattacked by crossing the
Suez Canal and entering into Egypt. They advanced southward and westward to the city of Suez.
The attack was carried out on Yom Kippur, which is the holiest day in the Jewish faith. That year the
month of October was also the Ramadan, which is the Muslim's holy month. The cease fire that had
been established by the United Nations was broken on October 22 1973. On October 24 the Israeli's

The Egyptian Syrian Attack Of September 1973
Assess the reasons for Israel's unpreparedness for the Egyptian Syrian attack of October 1973
The Egyptian Syrian attack that took place on Yon Kippur is a hugely significant event in the history
of the Arab Israeli conflict. Often referred to as 'the trauma', the attack revealed a number of key
issues with regards to Israeli defence and intelligence that ultimately resulted in a severe lack of
preparation. Israel was unprepared for a plethora of interlinking issues that resulted in a series of
fatal mistakes with regard to intelligence and military preparedness. With regards intelligence, an
entrenched and overconfident conviction in 'the Concept' blinded the Israeli's to the concrete
evidence and forewarnings of the Egyptian Syrian mobilization. The ingenuity of the Egyptian's was
also crucial to Israeli unpreparedness, especially the deployment of the almost certain double agent
– Ashraf Marwan.
The 'Concept' is the first significant reason why Israel was grossly unprepared for the attack – she
did not expect it and this was blunder of her own making. Upon official investigation into the errors
of Israeli preparation, the 1975 Agranat Commission highlighted Israel's Military Intelligence
Directorate – Aman – had 'persistently adhered' to a single incorrect 'Concept' regarding Egypt's
attack capabilities, disregarding other key intelligence as a result. This 'Concept' was that Egypt
would not wage war on the Israeli's before she had, firstly, acquired long range attack

Jews In The 20th Century
When one thinks of successful New York Jews in the modern age, some of the first names that come
to mind are actors like Woody Allen or political figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Justice Ruth
Bader Ginsburg. All these figures share not only a religious and geographical background, but more
importantly share the same building block for success. The mere fact that all of them grew up in an
area containing a large percentage of people whose families came to the United States and especially
the lower east side of Manhattan and the borough of Brooklyn. It is not a matter of coloration but is
a prime example of causation. The massive influx of Eastern European Jews at the end of the 19th

For the purpose of this paper success will be defined using examples of people who have stood out
in their given field or discipline. This overview allows for a look at specific cases stemming from
the geographical and sociological area this will solve the issue of the subjectivity of success. The
success of these communities was only made possible by the ability of the Jewish immigrants to
persevere through the terrible living conditions, anti–Semitic sentiment, scarcity of work, and the
atrocities experienced back home in Europe. Understanding the circumstances that caused a growth
rate in the Jewish population of 170% between 1880 and 1920 is fundamental to dissecting these
communities (Jewish Population in the United States, Nationally). During this time, there was a rush
of anti–Semitic sentiment weaving its way through numerous eastern European countries. The unfair
laws involving enlistment in the army, the burning of Jewish villages called pogroms, and May
Laws made Jewish life a daily struggle. Enlistment laws or quotas were much different for Jews than
others and at times used to impel to feel the necessity for Jews to convert to Christianity. A story

Indira Gandhi, Former Prime Minister of India: A Hero to...
The concept of heroes in the daily life of an ordinary man is ancient. The first known use of this
word was back in the 14th century. A hero is generally a person who displays extraordinary bravery
and readiness for self–sacrifice, and is therefore praised by all. In almost all cultures, a hero is a
symbol of strength, courage, nobility and selflessness. The list of qualities of a hero does not end
here; a hero also has to be intelligent, daring, self–reliant for the most part, resistant in the face of
hardships and must have the will to try where others do not. In ancient Greek culture, a hero was
usually a demigod with supernatural powers charged with the duty of completing extremely difficult
and dangerous tasks, examples being Achilles, Perseus and Hercules. In Egyptian mythology, the
Gods and Goddesses were the heroes as were some humans, like Queen Cleopatra. In ancient Indian
literature, figures from folklore are considered heroes, like Birbal, Majnu and Ranjha. A hero can
also simply be someone who has achieved what one cannot, or what one hopes to achieve. In this
way, Indira Gandhi, former prime minister of India, was a hero to the Indian nation. In the eyes of
many Indians, she was a role model for women everywhere, and for the Third World countries. She
was an epitome of decisiveness, commitment, strong will and determination. Being a female, which
is considered the weaker gender, she still was the head of the world's most populous democracy for

Over the years since the Six–Day War, they had built a sense of invincibility. This image came
crashing down after the Yom Kippur War. Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir was removed from

United States, this war had presented an abstruse situation. Around this time, the United States had
been trying to mend its relationship with Egypt. This impacted the choices of the United States
during the war, especially in how soon they decided to send arms to Israel. In addition, this war had
the possibility to ruffle the already–fragile relationship between the United States and the Soviet

games), Yossef Gutfreund, a 275 pound wrestling referee, reacted to the sound of Arab voices
behind the door of the apartment where he and other Israeli athletes were staying. The terrorists had
accessed the building unnoticed as they were dressed in athletic warm–ups and carried their
weapons in gym bags. Gutfreund quickly alerted his roommates that something was wrong and
proceeded to push his body against the door in an effort to prevent Arab entrance.
His efforts were successful for only a few moments, however, as the Arabs soon entered the
apartment, immediately taking five Israelis hostage. It was at this time that Romana, in an effort to
save his teammates, took a knife out of the kitchen and stabbed one of the gunmen. Moments later,
he and wrestling coach Moshe Weinberger were each shot several times, resulting in the first
casualties of the morning.
Approximately an hour after the attack began, the terrorists left, having killed two Israeli team
members and capturing nine. Due to the unanticipated chaos and struggle, the terrorists failed to
locate eight other team members in the neighboring apartments. Within the next hour, the Arabs had
issued a set of demands, and had thrown Weinberger's body into the street.

Golda Meir Research Paper
I've heard the name Golda Meir a time or two in the past, but I didn't know much more about her
other than the fact that she was the first female Prime Minister of Israel. Upon receiving this
assignment, I knew instantly that the historical leader that I was going to write about was Golda
Meir. I was drawn to her in particular, because I know in most Middle Eastern countries women are
treated as second class citizens, hence my interest, curiosity, and admiration drove me to want to
learn about how she reached to such a coveted position. Golda Meir represents an individual who
cared deeply for her fellowman and who wanted nothing more than to apply her various aptitudes
for positive change, no matter the capacity of vehicle for that change. As such, she was a crusader
with a personal effort of compassion and empathy. According to Webster dictionary, a crusader is "a
person who campaigns vigorously for political, social, or religious change (Crusader, 2010, p.421).
She was also determined and driven by a responsibility and commitment to the liberation of the
Jews. Golda Meir was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was a woman determined and driven by a responsibility and commitment to the liberation of the
Jews. In the same way like the senior enlisted leaders of today, she used full range leadership
development, critical thinking, and Dr. Toner's ethical leadership principles of the three Ps, as
identified in the lesson concepts taught in Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy to
capture the hearts of her supporters. Again, she also embraced the lesson of the emergent leadership
principles of Five Cs. Like Meir, I too care deeply for my fellow Airmen and want nothing more
than to instill positive change in any way that I can. In the long run, my aim is to exemplify the
highest standards of conduct to keep me on the right path to be a visionary and ethical leader such as

Revenge: The Story Of Cain And Abel
Imagine someone is on their way driving home one Sunday afternoon, perhaps on the way home
from a football game at a friend's house, when all of a sudden they are forced to slam hard on the
brakes because some "lunatic" has to be in front of you when the light turns green. With extreme
indignation, the "violated" driver resolves, once the light turns the right shade, to covertly get
around the perpetrator and "step on it". Welcome revenge. It is that feeling a person gets when
someone has done something absolutely awful towards them. Sometimes the violating person
doesn't even purposefully commit the injustice, however, the violated person, suffering from
myopia, has no inhibitions when it comes to rectifying the wrong by which they have ... Show more

It destroys relationships and whole families. It turns the nicest people into opprobrious beings.
Revenge can stir up all sorts of emotional distress and if it is not dealt with properly it can be
disastrous. To demonstrate some of the harsh effects of revenge the story of Cain and Abel will be
elucidated. In the Bible, the brothers Cain and Abel were giving God their offerings. Abel gave the
"firstlings of his flock" and "the Lord had respect unto Abel and his offering"(Genesis 4:4). Cain
brought fruit as his offering–"unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect"(Genesis 4:5). Simply,
Cain got upset because his brother pleased God. Cain was upset with his brother and probably felt
violated by him even though his brother meant no harm to Cain. Ultimately, Cain sought his revenge
and killed his brother. The ramifications were that he lost his brother and, more significantly, he was
"cursed from the earth"(Genesis 4:11) even so that "when thou tillest the ground, it shall not
henceforth yield unto thee her strength"(Genesis 4:12). There are different elements of this story that
can provoke discussion but the main idea for now is that revenge always comes with effects and
those effects are never good. Because revenge comes with effects that are never good, revenge is
never justifiable. The reason it is never justifiable is because it is never

Jordan Dbq Essay

  • 1. Jordan Dbq Essay Introduction: Fighting and finishing Israel is of most importance to maintain our position in the Arab world. The republic of Jordan after the six–day war against Israel had lost a lot of territory including the west bank, which was a big chunk of land, which Jordan had. According to new testaments Jordan's King Hussein made it clear to Prime Minister Golda Meir that he must do so as to preserve his position in the Arab world, and asked Israel not to attack Jordan. Since Jordan was a part of the Arabic community of countries it had to make a decision to fight with them or to let this war pass. Jordan making the correct decision made a final decision and decided that they were not going to attack Israel because they came to a conclusion that if they did they would loose more land. When Syria went at war Jordan had no other choice but to send men to aid and help out his brother countries. But as soon as Jordan took the action of sending 500 men and artillery to Syria and Egypt but every time their men were going take some kind of action they would acted slowly and cautiously if they could. Jordan as a whole really did want to get into a war with Israel they just had to pretend they were so, so they would be still in the Arabic community. Argument Number One: The point ... • 3. 'Great Quotes Titled Yom Kippur War' "There can be no doubt that the average man blames much more than he praises. His instinct is to blame. If he is satisfied he says nothing; if he is not, he most illogically kicks up a row" (9 Great Quotes from Golda Meir). This quote explains the naive ways of man and states that when people are unsatisfied with a situation, they act in violence instead of clearing the cloud of emotions already hanging over them. This was how the conflict of The Yom Kippur War started, hasty thinking. Ultimately everyone wanted land. The Ottoman Empire ruled Palestine and the population was diverse in terms of religious belief. Eighty percent of the population was Muslim and the rest were Christian and Jewish (The Israeli–palestanian Conflict). For that time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of those values is community. Some people battling even share the same ethnic background and forget that they are brothers and sisters and shouldn't be fighting against one another. When the war got a little more broad and was israeli–palestinian, the topic of identification comes up; identification as in religion versus ethnicity. "It's important to know that not all Muslims are Arabs, not all Arabs are Palestinians, and not all Palestinians are Muslims. Like there's a significant Christian minority of Palestinians. For instance Palestinian is a word used to describe the identity of those who have historically lived in Palestine. There were for instance lots of Christians in the Palestinian Liberation Organization formed in 1964 and lead by Yasser Arafat" (The Israeli– palestanian Conflict).with all of the identity confusion, it made it even harder for ethnic groups to know who to trust. This still ties in with why they wanted land. A great example is Jerusalem (The Six Day War). Jerusalem is the holy city for three major religions; Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (who are conveniently all part of the war) (The Six Day War). For Jews it was the holiest city in Judaism. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the designation of other holy sites made Jerusalem a destination of Christians. And the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque were built on the site where the Jewish Temples had once stood, so Jerusalem became the third holiest city in Islam (The Six Day War). now instead of coming to an agreement about sharing the holy land, they decide to constantly fight over it. By taking part in this, they are violating the principles they decided to believe in and breaking the rules they must abide by to even claim they are associated with said religion ( Canne). Specifically for Christians and (to an extent) the Jewish faith "they are breaking their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Golda Meir Reached for the Stars Essay Have you ever heard of Golda Meir? If you have then you know why her name and story is recorded on the shelves of time. For me, I have only just learned of this remarkable person as a result of my returning to community college and being tasked with a paper on a woman in history. The analysis of Golda Meir is an enriching experience, and raises questions and thoughts that cross many boundaries of geographic location and time about ethnic reunification, the recreation of a nation, and a perfect platform to see a mired of key words in this chapter's sociology list: ascribed status, role expectation, role exit, role conflict, and achieved status. Meir's story turns these words into real world examples and finally leaves the reader, as it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gruel was a great luxury in our home in those days, and I bitterly resented having to share any of it, even with the baby...I am glad that no one told me then that my older sister Sheyna often fainted from hunger in school" (Hitzeroth 13). Golda and her family lived better than other Jews due to the fathers' skills as a carpenter. For this reason they were granted special permission to live outside the Pale camps. Racism, police brutality and corruption were rampant and this was one of the main forces that would drive them to flee their home after the Kishinev Pogrom, a three day riot against Jews where dozens were killed, hundreds injured and houses and business looted. Many believed was it was sanctioned by the government. Not having enough money for the four of them to leave together Golda's father, Mosshe, left for America first in 1903 to look for work, housing and to save and accumulate enough money to get exit visas for the rest of the family to leave. Leaving for America was perhaps, for them, the best way to break free from their ascribed status. Kendall also states that role expectation is a group's or society's definition of the way that a specific role ought to be played (576). For Golda, her two sisters and her mother, Blume, this meant they would have to go to the Jewish ghetto and live as role expectation called for in Pinsk's "Pale" camp with Blume's parents (Hitzeroth). Life here would shape Golda into becoming a world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Much Ado About Nothing Beatrice Analysis The character I play in Much Ado About Nothing is Beatrice. According to the research I've done (sparknotes) she is certainly colorful and eloquent and has a brain to match her beauty. She has had a profound effect of people in her society and amongst readers and people of today. Shakespear criticizes the social norm and rights of the subservient role that women of his time had to endure. Beatrice is an ideal vehicle to articulate those social injustices that women were forced to put up with socially, personally and politically. She has a caustic and bitter tone when it suits her. This is evident when she interrupts people like Leonarto and the Messenger from the begnning of this play. She can manipulate the English language to her advantage and put others down. She is undoubtedly no "dumb" blond. She can be equated in what we will call a "spin doctor" because she has great linguistics skills. She could be revered as an Elizabethan feminist or negatively termed a "femi–azi" by male chauvinist. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was the youngest of eight children and her parents were sharecroppers. When Alice was about 8 years old, she was playing cowboys and Indians with her older brothers Curtis and Bobby and was accidentally shot in the right eye with a pellet from a BB Gun. From this injury, whitish scar tissue formed in the right eye and she became self–conscious of this mark. Because of her self–consciousness, she withdrew from the world and people and instead found a safe place in reading and writing poetry. But when she was fourteen, her older brother William gave her the needed resources and encouragement so that she could undergo eye surgery. Now, there's a tiny blue sphere where she got shot. Alice lived in the racially segregated part of the south, so naturally she went to an all black school. However, though these cruelties persist, according to Martin Luther King Jr. and Elie Wiesel, the past should not be forgotten. "Forgetting is not an option," states Elie Wiesel, the Noble Peace Prize winner of 1986. He tells a story of a Rabbi who undertook a sinful mission to hasten the messiah, so was punished and banished along with his faithful servant to a distant island where they lost all their memories. • 13. Golda Meir Research Paper Golda Meir spent her life actively involved in the betterment of the Jewish people, culminating her impact on Israel as the first, female Prime Minister from 1969–1973. From her beginnings as a young, Jewish girl living in a political environment where hate against her was encouraged, to her socialist Zionist background, to her experience of living abroad, back to Israel, Golda Meir passionately fought for fairness and human rights. As a young girl Golda Meir was exposed to ideologies and life experiences that impacted her world view and thus her actions. Her family lived with hatred for the Jews and government–sponsored anti–Semitism under the ruling of Tsar Nicholas II in Kiev, Russia. After living in fear and poverty, and at the age of 8, Meir's family emigrated to the United States of America. Here she experienced the country's freedom and democracy. Meir tried to have peace between Israel's neighboring countries. Israel became an independent state with Meir's help. After the Declaration of Israel was signed, war began that caused the part of Palestine promised for an Arab nation to be taken over by Israel, Egypt and Jordan. The Palestinians fled to refugee camps. Her fight to try to create a new government was long and hard. • 17. Golda Meir Research Paper Golda Meir played a key role in Israel's history because she was a hard worker with a strong voice for the zionist cause. Throughout her life she demonstrates courage and the ability to help people get through the terrors in their life. Meir was born in Russia, but later emigrated to the United States of America where she was educated as a teacher. This gave her a strong foundation and enabled her to narrow down the most complex things into very easy–to–understand words. In the United States, she became a leader in the Milwaukee Labor Zionist Party showing early support for the zionist movement. Later, in 1921, Meir and her husband moved to Palestine where they lived on a kibbutz or a collective, agricultural based community. During her early time in Palestine, she established herself even more as a qualified spokeswoman for the zionist cause, eventually working her way up to become an active member of the Histadrut, an organization created as a trade union to organize the economic activity of jewish workers. • 19. Men and Women Were Created Equ Essay By: Robert E–mail: an@cancom.net Men and Women were Created Equal Men are not superior to women, they are equal in every way. Although it is true that society has stereotyped women into traditional roles, this preconceived notion, is totally false. Action to promote the concept of equality in our society needs to be taken. Women have been fighting for equality for many decades. As a result of this battle, some amazing transformations have taken place amongst the female gender. Women have become educated and over the last few decades have started to take active roles and their rightful place in society. They have made major inroads in working opportunities, including government, science and even the military. Women now have equal rights and responsibilities in the defense of our country. These advances have been made, not only on the ground but in the air as well. In 1988, Deanna Brasseur became Canada's first female fighter pilot. That same year, the defense department appointed their first female general, Sheila Hellstrom. The department also stated that women often do better at riflery than men due to the fact that they listen to instruction while men tend to think they know it all. A male veteran sergeant, proud of his work with female recruits, says that: "Today's women won't find anything that hard to adjust to in the military." The facts are telling a tale. Many doors are opening for women and they are barreling through with boundless energy and determination. The 21st century is here and the traditional role of the stay–at–home mother is all but disappeared. Marriage and children are still signs of the successful women, however women are less willing to accept exclusive roles of housewife and mother. • 21. Gender Roles In our culture, we have this notion that men are better, more natural leaders than women. We see this in the fact that we have never had a female president, and that when we have a female elected to be a judge in the Supreme Court, it's a big deal. Women and girls have always been told and taught to be docile and submissive, which is the exact opposite of what you want to see in a leader. Because of this, the idea that men make better leaders than women is a widely accepted fact. However, it is socially constructed and not true. The qualities that one wants to see in a leader are the same qualities that our society has forced us to expect from men. By putting this expectation on women, our society has effectively silenced them from being able to give their opinions and thoughts without ridicule. Within this definition, there are three key elements–violence, fear, and intimidation–and each element produce terror in its victims. She was a politician, Zionist, and an educator. She created a Jewish homeland (Taitz & Henry, 1996), was Instrumental in the politics of Israel, and climbed the political ladder to become Israel's first woman Prime Minister and only the worlds fourth woman in power. She illuminated the world by giving the Jews a chance to live without persecution and women a chance to see what they can do other than traditional woman jobs. Created Although Golda Meir is not a very popular name you would hear every day, she most certainly did enough to deserve recognition. She helped create a Jewish homeland (Taitz & Henry, 1996). In the Torah, the Jewish bible, God promised the Israelites, old world Jews, a Promised Land or Eretz Israel. Since that was probably around more than 5,000 years ago, and jews still didn't have their promised land, Meir decided to take some action. Eventually, after some time and ... • 55. The Bombing Of Egypt 's Attack Heights to coincide with Egypt's attack. The Syrians were able to make headway into Israeli territory, but within the span of three days Israel was also able to push Syria out of their territory and back behind the cease fire line. The Israeli's then initiated a four–day counterstrike on the Egypt's infrastructure. The Israeli Army first attacked the Syrian city of Damascus. Sadat ordered his troops to go on the offensive in order to capture two more strategic areas in the Sinai Peninsula. Sadat had hoped that doing this would make his position stronger when it came time for peace negotiations. The attack by the Egyptian's was quickly put down. The Israeli's counterattacked by crossing the Suez Canal and entering into Egypt. They advanced southward and westward to the city of Suez. The attack was carried out on Yom Kippur, which is the holiest day in the Jewish faith. That year the month of October was also the Ramadan, which is the Muslim's holy month. The cease fire that had been established by the United Nations was broken on October 22 1973. On October 24 the Israeli's completed their entrapment of Egypt's Third Army and Suez. The result of this action was the escalation of tensions between The United States and The Soviet Union. Another ceasefire was established on October 25 in order to end the war. • 57. The Egyptian Syrian Attack Of September 1973 Assess the reasons for Israel's unpreparedness for the Egyptian Syrian attack of October 1973 The Egyptian Syrian attack that took place on Yon Kippur is a hugely significant event in the history of the Arab Israeli conflict. Often referred to as 'the trauma', the attack revealed a number of key issues with regards to Israeli defence and intelligence that ultimately resulted in a severe lack of preparation. Israel was unprepared for a plethora of interlinking issues that resulted in a series of fatal mistakes with regard to intelligence and military preparedness. With regards intelligence, an entrenched and overconfident conviction in 'the Concept' blinded the Israeli's to the concrete evidence and forewarnings of the Egyptian Syrian mobilization. The ingenuity of the Egyptian's was also crucial to Israeli unpreparedness, especially the deployment of the almost certain double agent – Ashraf Marwan. The 'Concept' is the first significant reason why Israel was grossly unprepared for the attack – she did not expect it and this was blunder of her own making. Upon official investigation into the errors of Israeli preparation, the 1975 Agranat Commission highlighted Israel's Military Intelligence Directorate – Aman – had 'persistently adhered' to a single incorrect 'Concept' regarding Egypt's attack capabilities, disregarding other key intelligence as a result. This 'Concept' was that Egypt would not wage war on the Israeli's before she had, firstly, acquired long range attack ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bernie Sanders and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. All these figures share not only a religious and geographical background, but more importantly share the same building block for success. The mere fact that all of them grew up in an area containing a large percentage of people whose families came to the United States and especially the lower east side of Manhattan and the borough of Brooklyn. It is not a matter of coloration but is a prime example of causation. The massive influx of Eastern European Jews at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century created ... This overview allows for a look at specific cases stemming from the geographical and sociological area this will solve the issue of the subjectivity of success. The success of these communities was only made possible by the ability of the Jewish immigrants to persevere through the terrible living conditions, anti–Semitic sentiment, scarcity of work, and the atrocities experienced back home in Europe. Understanding the circumstances that caused a growth rate in the Jewish population of 170% between 1880 and 1920 is fundamental to dissecting these communities (Jewish Population in the United States, Nationally). During this time, there was a rush of anti–Semitic sentiment weaving its way through numerous eastern European countries. The unfair laws involving enlistment in the army, the burning of Jewish villages called pogroms, and May Laws made Jewish life a daily struggle. Enlistment laws or quotas were much different for Jews than others and at times used to impel to feel the necessity for Jews to convert to Christianity. • 63. Indira Gandhi, Former Prime Minister of India: A Hero to... The concept of heroes in the daily life of an ordinary man is ancient. The first known use of this word was back in the 14th century. A hero is generally a person who displays extraordinary bravery and readiness for self–sacrifice, and is therefore praised by all. In almost all cultures, a hero is a symbol of strength, courage, nobility and selflessness. The list of qualities of a hero does not end here; a hero also has to be intelligent, daring, self–reliant for the most part, resistant in the face of hardships and must have the will to try where others do not. In ancient Greek culture, a hero was usually a demigod with supernatural powers charged with the duty of completing extremely difficult and dangerous tasks, examples being Achilles, Perseus and Hercules. In Egyptian mythology, the Gods and Goddesses were the heroes as were some humans, like Queen Cleopatra. In ancient Indian literature, figures from folklore are considered heroes, like Birbal, Majnu and Ranjha. A hero can also simply be someone who has achieved what one cannot, or what one hopes to achieve. In this way, Indira Gandhi, former prime minister of India, was a hero to the Indian nation. In the eyes of many Indians, she was a role model for women everywhere, and for the Third World countries. She was an epitome of decisiveness, commitment, strong will and determination. Being a female, which is considered the weaker gender, she still was the head of the world's most populous democracy for more than a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Following the Six–Day war of 1967, it was clear peace treaties needed to be established. The Arabs refused to agree to these peace treaties, so the tension was left hanging in the air. As for the United States, this war had presented an abstruse situation. Around this time, the United States had been trying to mend its relationship with Egypt. This impacted the choices of the United States during the war, especially in how soon they decided to send arms to Israel. In addition, this war had the possibility to ruffle the already–fragile relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union. Golda Meir Research Paper I've heard the name Golda Meir a time or two in the past, but I didn't know much more about her other than the fact that she was the first female Prime Minister of Israel. Upon receiving this assignment, I knew instantly that the historical leader that I was going to write about was Golda Meir. I was drawn to her in particular, because I know in most Middle Eastern countries women are treated as second class citizens, hence my interest, curiosity, and admiration drove me to want to learn about how she reached to such a coveted position. Golda Meir represents an individual who cared deeply for her fellowman and who wanted nothing more than to apply her various aptitudes for positive change, no matter the capacity of vehicle for that change. With extreme indignation, the "violated" driver resolves, once the light turns the right shade, to covertly get around the perpetrator and "step on it". Welcome revenge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It destroys relationships and whole families. It turns the nicest people into opprobrious beings. Revenge can stir up all sorts of emotional distress and if it is not dealt with properly it can be disastrous. To demonstrate some of the harsh effects of revenge the story of Cain and Abel will be elucidated. In the Bible, the brothers Cain and Abel were giving God their offerings. Abel gave the "firstlings of his flock" and "the Lord had respect unto Abel and his offering"(Genesis 4:4). Cain brought fruit as his offering–"unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect"(Genesis 4:5). Simply, Cain got upset because his brother pleased God. Cain was upset with his brother and probably felt violated by him even though his brother meant no harm to Cain. Ultimately, Cain sought his revenge and killed his brother. The ramifications were that he lost his brother and, more significantly, he was "cursed from the earth"(Genesis 4:11) even so that "when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength"(Genesis 4:12). There are different elements of this story that can provoke discussion but the main idea for now is that revenge always comes with effects and those effects are never good. Because revenge comes with effects that are never good, revenge is never justifiable. The reason it is never justifiable is because it is never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
