I am a time served Fabricator/Welder with more than 15 years experience in the industry. I have
worked on heavy and light fabrication work in the workshop and on-site as well as welded in MIG,
including hard facing process, MMA and Stick. I work well within a team but I am also able to work on
my own or with very little supervision. I am used to working to tight tolerance’s and strict KPI’s always
with good attention to detail. I am able to work from all types of drawings and I can work many
machines including Shears, Cropper, Press, Drills, Grinders and Oxy burning equipment.

I worked for many years as a Fabricator/Welder starting as an Apprentice and working my way up to
team leader on shifts. I have used many machines including Punches, Croppers, Shears, Drills and
other equipment including Oxy Burning, Grinders and Band saws. I have worked on projects for
companies such as Mabey & Johnson Shipping Ltd completing Fabrication jobs and Welding from
start to finish always to a high standard using CAD drawings. Other work included bridge structures,
train station platforms and stairs, beam work for shipping decks, hand railings as well as platforms for
oil rigs all using welded in MIG and MMA, Butt and Fillet welds.

I worked as a lorry trailer axle welder; this entailed welding parts on steel beams with MIG to complete
orders of a high volume with strict KPI’s. I was also responsible for carrying out the visual weld
inspection checks and administration work for jobs leaving the welding department.

July 2009 - June 2013
I worked for Bailey's for nearly 4years and in that time I have made heavy steel structures including
crushers, crusher discs and steel mills. I have carried out crack detecting and visual inspection on
welding jobs as well as problem solving. My welding work has included the use of Sub Arc, Hard
Facing Crusher Discs and Hard Facing MIG, stick and flux core wire. I have also worked on site stick
welding on the docks in steel making companies.

This was a varied role working on many jobs fabricating and welding cages, stairs and heavy beams,
all working to tight tolerances and to a high standard of work. Welding in MIG and stick also using
various machines such as drills, cropper and chop saw. I also went out on-site fitting and welding
jobs with stick welds.

My position as a Fabricator/Welder entails heavy beam work, ladders, hand railings and tanks, mild
steel and stainless steel. I am currently working out on site making handrails and other steel
structures using both steel and wood using grinders, saws and stick welding all to a high standard on
a contract for Newport City Council.
