1. DETAILS OF THE CONSOLE TABLE
The console table is often referred to as a multifunctional table. But it always
depends on how much people know about them and what they want to have or
whether they've simply seen modern examples of the marble console table.
The earliest console tables are frequently very different from what is included
in this modern.
The marble hall tables in the UK in their original form were likely first
designed by the Romans instead of having the usual four legs that typically
define a table, an ancient console table had two front legs, and was fairly
narrow, perhaps one to two feet in width and since a table like this could not
stand on its own they were always kept at the support of the wall or the
support of sofa or other tables. There are various designs created in the long
journey of the tables through the ages, reflecting the design aesthetics of each
period.
The modern black marble hall tables are quite different from their ancestral
design tables and the major difference is that most of these tables have four
legs, and some are designed in a way that they can stand on their own so they
are known as freestanding cabinets. And the main reason they retain their
original name is that the table may have a much defined back and front. The
features decorations and access to cabinets, drawers, and perhaps other
features, though some looks quite plain. The back side of the table is usually
free of designs.
Most console tables are much taller than the average table. So, they are often
grouped in with coffee tables and end tables as “occasional tables.” The height
of console tables can vary to a point degree and their typical height is a lot
similar to the average adult's hip height or just a little higher to the average
adult's waist height.
