3. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
 CHERRI AFRICA is a non governmental organization whose primary aim is
to provide adequate health information and awareness as a short term goal
and healthcare resources as a long term goal for the ever increasing Nigerian
populace and Africa in general.
 The CHERRI AFRICA project is a three-phase project which include the
following:
 A 24/7 operational website” www.cosmoshealthafrica.org” which is updated
on a daily basis by seasoned medical practitioners with medical health
information including: health advisory, medical prescriptions, medical health
diagnostic procedures for professionals. ( short term goals)
 Health awareness creation through health talk shows, seminars and
conferences. This would be organized every month at designated locations
throughout the federation and is aimed at providing medical health
information and resources to individuals, medium scale organizations in the
health sector and medical health institutions in partnership with CHERI
AFRICA. (short term goals).
 Provision of healthcare, healthcare facilities and resources in rural
communities especially sub Saharan Africa through partnership with multi
national organizations which in turn will evoke funding for this project. (Long
term project)

4. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
INTRODUCTION
 ORGANISATION AND MISSION
CHERRI AFRICA was established as a non profit organization with the purpose of providing a
platform where people of different socio-economic backgrounds participate in a comprehensive
program of health awareness and tutoring that promotes the physical educational life skills necessary
to empower them for a minimal health risk living in their respective communities and also success in
their personal lives. Its current staff strength is a team of 5 medical experts including 2 medical
doctors,1 laboratory scientist, (working as the research and development analyst),company
secretary/phlebotomist and a web analyst.
Retrospectively, Nigeria’s life expectancy history has always ranked in the 100’s right from the 1990’s
varying from 153 to 177 according to the world health organization. With the top 10 death causes
ranging from malaria, HIV/AIDS, diarrheal diseases, coronary heart diseases and so on which are
very much controllable and avoidable but limitations like ignorance, negligence, inaccessibility of
information, are the major stumbling blocks.
CHERRI AFRICA seeks to ;
 fore address the ignorance and inaccessibility of health issues awareness of the common Nigerian and
even Africa in general as a short term goal and provision of healthcare facility that is readily accessible
to various communities, as a long term goal so as to reduce ignorance in health information and
mortality amongst our people to its minimal.
 Provision of timely information aimed at combating possible health menace among many other
things is an important function of public health. Hence, inadequate tracking techniques in the public
health sector can lead to huge health insecurity, and hence endanger national security, etc.

For decades ago, communicable diseases outbreak was a threat not only to lives of individuals
but also national security. Today it is possible to track outbreaks of diseases and step up
medical treatment and preventive measures even before it spreads over a large populace.
Medical and epidemiological surveillance, besides adequate health care delivery, are essential
functions of public health agencies whose mandate is to protect the public from major health
threats which is what CHERRI AFRICA stands for. These threats includes: communicable
diseases outbreak, disaster outbreak, and bioterrorism. CHERRI AFRICA leads the need to
avoid the various threats and communication lapses, strengthen the health work force
planning, management, and training which can have a positive effect on the health sector
performance, local communities in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Nigerian health care had suffered several infectious disease outbreaks and mass chemical
poisoning for several years. Hence, there is immense need to tackle the problem starting with
the need to keep people on track with basic health information and health hazards.
CHERRI AFRICA reviews the state of the Nigerian health awareness and information
system which in turn has an adverse effect on the health care system and aims to reduce its
short comings to its minimal by providing possible recommendations/solutions to the
worsening state of health information awareness and health care in the country.

• There is a website dedicated to reaching out to the world with our health awareness
campaign which is the first phase of the project “www.cosmoshealthafrica.org”.
Schemes under the web platform include
 CHERRI UPDATE
It is a scheme under the www.cosmoshealthafrica.com which include; a platform where
diseases prevalence are monitored in respect to environmental hygiene and weather
conditions in each locality.
The aim of this particular scheme is to research on possible health issues arising from
the hygiene life style of a particular locality and how that affects their health life.
 HEALTH TASKS
Basically, possible health risks are predicted before they become an epidemic. Here, the
present environment is studied politically and socio-economically in reference to health
matters. As much as political issues and socio-economic issues are separate entities on
their own, they also affect the health aspects of one’s life.

 The interactive CHERRI AFRICA COMMENT PLATFORM
This scheme seeks to educate on how these entities are inter twined and how they affect
people’s life drastically. This is a portal where questions are promptly answered
.Questions ranging from illnesses to life disclaimer reads this is not a 100 percent
medical alternative for going to the hospital but instead an avenue where questions are
all answered without borders.
 The second phase of the project is organizing health awareness outreaches, seminars
and conferences. Schemes under this platform includes:
 Organizing health awareness outreaches in churches, mosques, local communities and
event gatherings. This is done by sending our outreach invitation letter and follow-up
team till a suitable date is fixed with the interested organization.
 Organizing road walks and field trips on special world health event day e.g World kidney
day, World AIDS day by carrying banners, wearing team jersey and creating health
awareness about this health conditions in the streets.
 Organizing CHERRI AFRICA conference/workshops on health issues which would
command the attendance of various health professionals. At this conference and / or
workshops, CHERRI AFRICA research publications will also be officially launched.

9. MANAGEMENT AND ORGANISATION
 CHERRI AFRICA currently consist of a 8 member team comprising 3 medical
doctors,2 trained medical laboratory scientists,2 administrative staffs and a secretary. We
are currently working with about 20 volunteers in Lagos state .CHERRI AFRICA is
headed by Mr. Abiodun Oluwasegun Oluga(FOUNDER) with Ms. Oloruntoyin Suliat
Sadiq and Dr. Damilare Adeniyi as CO-FOUNDERS.
 WHAT WE DO
CHERRI AFRICA’s effort and passion is directed towards ensuring that our people take
health conscious decisions. We are actively involved in organizing health seminars ,
conferences , talk shows and outreaches in schools , churches, mosques , local
communities and gatherings. We also conduct FREE medical diagnosis and patient
follow-up on HIV/AIDS, HBsAg, Blood pressure checks and Diabetes screening.
So far, we have successfully conducted FREE HIV screening for about 800 people at
different locations in Lagos state and this was single handedly carried out using our
personal resources and funding because we believe in a common interest which is
“SUSTAINABILITY IN ENSURING THAT OUR PEOPLE TAKE HEALTH
CONCIOUS DECISIONS” .

CHERRI AFRICA is a team of dynamic individuals in the area of medical research and
development. We have developed a concept that will allow CHERRI AFRICA AND
KIDNEY SOLUTION engage in a symbiotic relationship which we believe is going to
be a success. KIDNEY SOLUTION as an official partner will have its logo on
CHERRI AFRICA website as sponsor of a particular health article and also, be on our
banners at every CHERRI AFRICA health seminars, conferences and talk shows stating
clearly that KIDNEY SOLUTION is a PARENT PARTNER. Also, CHERRI AFRICA
seminar recipient(s) will be referred to KIDNEY SOLUTION .

11. CHERRI AFRICA’S MAJOR MILESTONE
 CHERRI AFRICA has since inception in 2013 carried out health
awareness outreaches in well over 15 locations across Lagos and Ogun
state Nigeria. This location includes churches, mosques, local
communities and road side campaign using fliers.
 Our major milestones so far was the successful implementation of
CHERRI AFRICA’s first valentine day community service which was
jointly organised by Wecyclers Nig. Ltd at Boola community kilo,
Surulere area of Lagos state, Nigeria. The health outreach hosted
several professionals including doctors, scientists, product brand
managers who delivers speeches on various mind bordering societal
issues.
 It has over 1000 people in attendance and free HIV screening was
conducted for over half the population in attendance. The event was a
success even though most of the materials used and logistics was
solely on the bill of CHERRI AFRICA. We were glad it ended up a
huge success story and so many lives were touched.

12. FINANCIAL PLAN
Below is a Summary of how much we have spent, how much we currently have and budget
to attain a sustainable project for all our long term goals.
We have spent about N800,000,being used in the purchase of the CHERRI AFRICA project
car (N550,000) while the remaining N300,000 was spent on purchase of laboratory
reagents, glucometers, blood pressure analysers and logistics for moving around to major
locations of all our outreaches.
At the moment we have about N100,000 in the CHERRI AFRIC account which shall be
used in purchase of reagents and logistics for our upcoming activities and outreaches
We look forward to getting funding from multinational organisation to enable us expand the
projet to other states of nigeria as discussed earlier
We also hope to get fundings from multi national organisations, patrons and individuals to
construct a state-of-the-art diagnosis centre that would be named after the sponsor. The
centre which would be located in both Lagos and Abuja would conduct FREE
HIV/HBsAg creening for all kinds of individuals,while other clinical infectious diagnosis
would be cacrried out at discounted rates,generated funds will be used for the
sustainability and development of the centre.
CHERRI AFRIICA is hoping to procure a projet bus to ease the conveyor of our staffs and
volunteers too our various outreach locations.

13. Also all team members are going to be on a leadership training
conference for two weeks by June 3014 and this will also incure a
huge cost.
At the moment, no staff member is being paid because we are doing the
project as a community development effort but we need funding so
has to encourage all our volunteers by giving them stipends after every
outreach
We also need funding to help achieve all our expansion strategies as
outlined in the CHERRI AFRICA expansion plan
Our long term goals which is to establish a state-of the-art diagnostics
centre in both Lagos and Abuja will also incure a huge cost which we
intend to9 achieve with funds or donations from multinationals,
philanthropists and other organizations.
Our financial plan at the moment doesn't have a streamlined pathway but
we shall infuse all funds donated or generated into the
implementation of the set target.
