Within this assignment, the definition of clinical governance and accountability will be explored and
discussed using a literature search. A case example will be used and briefly discuss the
accountability of the nurse and other health professionals of professional standards, local polices and

For example you are told to be at work at 0900 work call, you are supposed to be there at 0850. But,
you may ask, how does me not being at 0630 formation on Fort Hood for PT put other people's lives
in danger? Well, it doesn't. But, making being on time, or even a bit early, a habit can help when you
eventually do end up down range and you need to be on time for a mission. Civilians are also
expected to be at their right place at the right time. The only difference is being on time is on time in
the civilian world. If work is at 10:00 then as long as it's not 10:01, then you are in the clear.
Showing people you can be on time not only shows you have discipline, but you respect for your

Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a
reflection of a person's character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self–discipline.
While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness

Advocate and Nursing Leadership
Throughout our nursing careers we have come into a situation where we needed to advocate for our
patient or co–worker. It takes leadership skills, respect, and accountability to advocate in our
workplace. Moreover, in order to create change one must first evaluate the issue then set goals to
implement the plan. The purpose of this paper is to discuss my weaknesses and strengths to nursing,
use of current leadership skills to advocate change in the workplace, and reflection on personal goal
for leadership growth and development of implementation plan to reach goal.
Weaknesses and Strengths to Nursing
Within my nursing practice I have my own weaknesses and strengths to personal and professional
accountability, career planning, personal journey disciplines, and reflective practice reference
behaviors. For instance, with my personal and professional accountability I have held myself
accountable for anything I did not properly accomplish or did wrong. With every decision I have
made in my personal life I knew if the wrong decision was made, I would have to face the
consequence for it. Being that as it may I have tried my best in life to do what is right and hold
