The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area recently achieved its highest ever employment level of nearly 1.9 million jobs, just shy of a new record. Unemployment in the region is currently 3.4%, the fourth lowest among large metros in the US. Job and economic growth in the Twin Cities has continued to outpace most other large metros.

• According to the most recent estimates from the BLS, the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro has achieved its
largest ever employment count—just 133 jobs shy of 1.9 million. This is the second time this year that
MSP’s employment total broke records; April’s labor data hit a then-high of 1.893 million jobs and a peak
labor force count of 1.969 million.
• With a current unemployment rate of 3.4%, Minneapolis-St. Paul has the fourth lowest rate in the nation
among all large metros, tied with San Antonio and surpassed only by Austin, Nashville, and Denver.
