3. Since August 2000, he has been the Founding Partner of Bertling & Clausen,
L.L.P where he represents health care providers in medical malpractice, medical
board, and medical staff matters. He also represents governmental agencies and
private health care providers in civil rights and class actions for the alleged
violation of a prisoner’s access to adequate medical, mental health and dental
care pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1983.

5. Peter Bertling graduated from California Western School of Law in 1987
where he was elected Vice President of the Student Body and served as Director
of the Moot Court Board. He won the National Trial Competition, sponsored by
the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, in 1987. He was also the
California State Champion of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy
Competition in 1986.. Mr. Bertling has a great passion for theatre and classical
music and enjoys domestic and international travel with his wife, Deborah
Bertling.
