Made4Me is a project that aims to reduce youth unemployment in Pakistan by matching students to potential employers. It will create awareness of career opportunities among students and employers, train students to strengthen their skills, and directly connect students with job openings. The project will recruit volunteers to help implement a multi-stage process: raising awareness, identifying job opportunities, providing skills training, and facilitating job placement matches between students and employers over a 2-year period in Karachi. Made4Me conducted surveys finding high unemployment among students who are motivated to find part-time work and seeks partnerships to expand its training and employment services.

5. Made4Me Unemployment Survey Made4Me Reality Check
100% of the students opted
for part-time job.
Only 1/3 chose single gender
environment over co-
gender environment.
Only 26% chose a home-
based job over a location
near home. No one chose a
location far from home.
Approx. ¾ of the students
sought Rs. 15000 (EUR 120)
or less each month from
their part-time job.
80% chose time-frame of
2pm to 8pm for their part-
time job.
None of the students were
appropriately trained for a
job in their education field.
Made4Me sent out a survey to students of Karachi. 90% of the students were unemployed. When
asked if they wanted a job, all of them said “Yes”.The other 10% tutored younger students. 70% of
the respondents were females. The total monthly family income of 80% of the students was Rs.
60000 (EUR 470) or less. All (100%) of the students had their parents to pay for their education.
Made4Me Reality Check
Made4Me sent out an application form to students who participated in the survey and need
employment. 56% of the students responded. 2/3 of these were females.
Made4Me‘s initial plan was to collect student data, create job opportunities and match the
students with the job. However, after the reality check, we realized that students of Pakistan are not
ready to take on a job. They must be trained for a job before they apply for it.
Considering these facts, Made4Me was remolded into a system, that recruits, trains, guides and
matches students to a job.
Made4Me PartnershipsMade4Me plans to partner with local businesses and potential employers.
Made4Me also plans to partner with a national government program (Benazir Bhutto Shaheed
Youth Development Program) that trains youth (not students) and offers a stipend during training,
but does not offer jobs.
