4. 1. WHY WIND POWER?
•Ensuring environmental sustainability:
Wind energy does not pollute, is inexhaustible and slows the depletion of
fossil fuels and the greenhouse effect. It is a technology leader in preventing
CO2 emissions
•It is a domestic energy. Consume resources that are all around us
decreases distribution costs, increase energy efficiency and decrease
dependence on external supplies.
•Creating wealth and employment:
The wind industry employs over 35,000 people in Spain, with positions
permanent and quality. Renewable energy creates five times more jobs than
conventional energy compared to its turnover.
•Source of cheap energy:
•Wind power technology is the most competitive of the special. Low electricity prices
by displacing more expensive combustion technologies in the market. In 2009,
reduced the cost of electricity by 3.4 € / MWh.

6. 3. WHY WE ARE FREEWIND THE WIND POWER??
Technology accessible to all.
We believe in a sustainable socio-economic
model, where the consumer is your own energy
producer.
Open hardware designs available publicly
promotes its
implementation and development to be fast and
efficient.
Anyone can study, modify, build and distribute.
Free technology promotes R & D.
The community provides input to find the most efficient
design at the lowest cos
7. 4. FREEWIND PROYECT: Introduction
The supply of electricity to homes and industries based on the exploitation of wind
energy technology is an option increasingly used
So far these projects have raised individually. But it is observed that the combination
of micro-generators in networks is a more optimal solution.
This alternative design incorporates the option of using computers to generate more
power, proportionately cheaper, and consumption condition prevents a family wind
resources available at home.

Real case: El Alumbre
• COSTS WERE REDUCED by 20%, reducing the number of wind turbines in 10 units.
• The model of micro-networks, allowed to meet increasing demand with a lower cost increase::
58% in micro-networks designs compared to 72% in individual designs
