My lost love
1. My Lost Love
cecilrubino
My lover has left me
To a dark and freezing night
I called, I sought, I longed for him…
My lover has left me.
My lover has betrayed me
We vowed for fidelity: „till death do us part‟
I remained faithful, he forsook me in return
My lover has betrayed me.
My lover has taken my heart
Like a thief in the middle of the night
Casanova, corrupter of love!
My lover has taken my heart.
Alone…reminiscing happy thoughts of yesteryears
“Sweet love, please come back!”
My heart‟s crushed like boiled potatoes mashed for breakfast
What have I done to deserve a broken heart?
My love, if you happen to remember me
Please drop by, peep at the door, and make a glance on me
There I am waiting, wishing for no one but you…
My long lost love.

2. The Connection
cecilrubino
I looked around and saw an immense beauty
Of flowers and trees abound in mountains and valleys
Of birds and other animals celebrating an endless liberty
Precious in my eyes, oh, I love thee.
I turned around and blinked my eyes
Only to stun because I was creating an image of the past
For beauty is gone, annihilation is rampant
People are heedless users of God‟s gifts to mankind.
For every mistake a lesson is taught
Hunger strikes out, drought‟s strife
Just then, people realized „ man is not an island‟—
We must take care of one another in order to survive.
The bind‟s a vivid robust connection
Nature‟s a part of life, a symphony of the heart…
We belong to them and they are a part of us;
A symbiotic relationship between Mother Nature and mankind.

3. To Your Altar, Lord…
cecil a. rubino
I come to you hesitant and intimidated;
Thoughts wail: “Am I worthy my meek, lamb?”
Puff of wind moaned casting a fearful heart;
“Come here, my child”, to your altar- I sobbed.
Eyes staring at me, awakening an oblivious heart;
Bringing me out to a scenery hundreds of decade past.
A man crowned with thorns, whipped by the cruel hands;
To your altar, I saw you crucified.
You said, “This is how much I adore you,
No length of measures knows its dimension, my child.”
A man crowned with thorns, whipped by the cruel hands;
To your altar, I saw you crucified.
Head bowed, arms stretched, body lay on the ground.
Acts of surrender to you I brought out:
My strengths, weaknesses and limitations
Here I am- use me, I’ll do my part. To your altar, Lord…

4. Goodbye…
cecilrubino
Goodbye…I‟m letting you go.
To a bitter-sweet memory
To a wishful past
And to a loving memoir of you.
Goodbye…I‟m setting you free.
Like a bird lock in a cage
Like a prisoner in his cell
Like a balloon roaming freely in the sky.
Goodbye…It‟s hard to let you go.
But, I have to face the truth
That you are only an illusion
Of a little girl in fairy tale books.
Goodbye…I‟m releasing you to freedom.
To a land of independence and liberty
For in doing this, I‟m giving myself a favor
To grow like the sunrise and be humble like the sunset.
