2. Everyday, people around the
world are going hungry.
As of January 2, 2013, 870 million people
around the world go to bed hungry every
night.
Hunger kills more people than AIDS,
malaria and tuberculosis, combined.
According to the World Food Programme,
only $50 USD can feed a school child for
an entire year.

3. It’s not just overseas…
1 in 6 American’s face
hunger each day
50.1 million American’s
struggle to put food on
the table
In the US, 40% of food is
thrown out, $165 billion
dollars a year.
This amount of
uneaten food could
have fed 25 million
hungry families.

5. But what can we do about it?
On average,
American’s spend
between $151 and
$180 on groceries a
week.
If you had the
opportunity to
receive discounts
on your grocery list
and help reduce
world hunger,
would you take it?

6. United We Feed
With this app, the user will
receive daily coupons that
they can then save to their
iPhone, Android or other
smartphone.

7. Functions
After the user has
saved the coupon
to their mobile
device, they can
scan their coupons
at the register.

8. Each coupon
distributed has a
barcode and
when the bar
code is scanned a
percentage of the
discounted item’s
price goes to a
hunger relief fund.
Ex. If a brand,
partnered with
United We Feed,
offers a 20% off
coupon, the
customer receives
10% off the item
and 10% goes to
the fund. How it works…
Claire Burdick, United We Feed, 4-6-13
9. So?
The customer receives an incentive to
“donate” to hunger relief.

10. Let’s look at a hypothetical:
Lets take an average American family
They spend 151 USD on groceries per
week = 7,852 USD a year
This average family successfully utilizes the
United We Feed app, procuring 40% off
and 30% of their total bill going to the
hunger relief…
Claire Burdick, United We Feed, 4-6-13
12. And some more…
$60.40 times the 52
weeks in a year,
saves our average
family roughly
$3,140.80 on
groceries.
$45.30 times the 52
weeks in a year,
generates roughly
$2,355.60 for
hunger relief.

13. Let’s imagine that our app gets 700
downloads…
Pretending that each household utilizes the
app as efficiently as that average American
family previously explored
That’s $2,198,560 saved on groceries for a
year
But most importantly…
Claire Burdick, United We Feed, 4-6-13
14. That’s $1,648,920
for hunger relief.
That number feeds nearly 33
thousand hungry children for
an entire year.
Claire Burdick, United We Feed, 4-6-13
15. But that’s only hypothetical
Because we cannot achieve anything to
this magnitude to help eradicate this silent
killer without your help.
Thank You.
