2. 2. Why is it hard to use technology in the classroom?
It takes time and research to be prepared to teach it effectively
Some schools do not have the resources
New technology can be confusing and hard to figure out
Internet use requires a lot of prep time before using…discussing plagarism and safety are two important things!
3. 3. Does that mean we shouldn’t use it????
NO, of course not!
But, it is important to address all of your concerns first!
A teacher can never be too prepared when it comes to using technology!
It can add so much hands on and engagement to a lesson!
4. 4. My students love PHOTOSTORY!
I introduced myself to the classroom by presenting them with a Photostory about myself!
I wanted them to do the same! I wanted them to create a Photostory so I could get to know them more!
They loved adding sound, text, and music. Four student even used this program for their final book reports!
5. 5. PHOTOSTORY
Easy to use
Create slideshows using digital photos, or uploaded images
Free to download
You can add narration, transitions, music and more!
Small file sizes
Photostory can add a personal touch to any presentation
10. 10. TECHNOLOGY…
Who knew there was so much technology out there that you, as a teacher, can use in the classroom!
What’s great about technology is that some times, students can work at their own pace. Students are all at different levels! They can work at their own pace.
When I did PowerPoints on the Revolutionary War, they all ranged to their abilities. Some were simple, and other were very complex!!!
11. 11. SLIDESHARE!
I made a video for my class about all that we did. If I had known about slideshare … I could have given them all a link, instead of saving it to all of their flash drives! It pays to get in tune to all the technology. It really can make things easier!
Upload PowerPoint's and PDF presentations
Find groups that look interesting to you
12. 12. TECHNOLOGY
Take advantage of all the tools that are you there for teachers?
What do you have to lose?
You have only something to gain!!! Students will benefit from the hands-on, collaborative, visual learning!!!
