readings and lecture offered information related to lobbyists and advocates. Is there a
difference between being a lobbyist and an advocate? Lobbyists provide for policy, as do
advocates, so what is the difference? Most nurses consider themselves patient advocates;
however a political advocate is somewhat different. In this discussion, differentiate between
a lobbyist and an advocate. Be sure to discuss a political advocate rather than a bedside

Joint Commission is an organization that deals with improving the quality of healthcare that
is offered to the masses and also ensure patient safety (Masica, Richter, Convery, & Haydar,
2009). It works with different organizations that deal with the provision of care to ensure
that no harm comes to patients. The Joint Commission has a huge impact on nursing, given
that it ensures there is the standardization of practices. That reduces the occurrence of
errors in nursing practice. In terms of nursing education, this organization also has a key
role where it tasked with the process of review. That is done through the involvement of the
nurses in the accreditation and certification programs. As well, the nurses are involved in
the development of standards. Advocates Differences DiscussionIn terms of nursing
research, the Joint commission plays the role of enhancing or ing research that is aimed at
improving the standard of practice and safety of the patients. In assessing the role of the
organization in the lens of nursing excellence, it is more of a resource for the healthcare
system. For instance, it provides ways through which a healthcare organization can improve
the quality of services that they provide and also ensure that there is patient safety. In my
capacity as a nurse, I would provide a lot of to this organization. In specific, I would
participate in the development of standards that are used in the provision of healthcare.
Personally, there some aspects of the provision of healthcare that I do not like, for instance,
understaffing and hence I can use the organization as an avenue to address them. Advocates
Differences DiscussionThe National League of Nursing is concerned with the issues of
improving nursing education and the manner that nursing services are offered in the United
States (Gonen, Sharon, & Lev-Ari, 2016). Notably, the impact of the national league of
nursing has been promoting excellence in the field of nursing. That has been through the
use of nursing education in the process of building a strong and diverse workforce that can
be used in the provision of healthcare. As well, the organization has been involved in the
process of advancing policy that is used to improve the quality of nursing services.In terms
of nursing education, this institution is concerned with engaging practicing nurses to ensure
that they are conversant with the latest nursing practices. Also, the organization plays a
huge role in creating a ive environment for nursing educators which helps them in the
process of executing their mandate. Moreover, the organization is involved in the process of
nursing research, whereby it plays a role in the development and designing of different
research initiatives that are aimed at improving nursing practice. In the lens of nursing
excellence, this organization is a resource for the healthcare system. That is because it
provides for nursing education and all the stakeholders who are involved in the process.
As a nurse, I would be excited to provide to the organization. That is because it is through
nursing education that improvements can be achieved in the field of nursing and hence

discussion and paragraph could have been more substantial. • Responses missing one of the
following: o insight/critical review of colleague’s post, o OR respond to at least two peers, o
OR a peer reviewed*or course materials reference per response • Responses are a minimum
