• Pin all your stuff in one place, online

• Create multiple “boards” for various topics
(e.g., “cooking,” “art,” “photography,” etc.)

• Move boards around (drag and drop)

Sign up to Pinterest
• By invitation only—you must get an invitation:
– Two ways:
• Go to pinterest.com and request one
• Get an invitation from a friend
– They are not hard to come by and take only a day
or two from Pinterest

• You can login using Facebook or Twitter (so
you have to have an account there)

Set Up Your Profile
• Completely fill in your profile
– Notifications
– About
– Website
– Link to both Facebook & Twitter
– Visibility


Create Some Boards!
• Just start creating boards
– Make some personal
– Make a few that are business-related
– Make one that is solely about your business
• Rules of thumb
– 80/20 rule
– Keyword rich username, boards, descriptions
– Mix original pins, re-pins, likes, and comments


Start Pinning!
• 3 ways:
– Surf the ‘net. When you find something cool, go to
Pinterest and “Add” it
– Install the “Pin it” bookmarklet (works in any browser) and
simply navigate to a page you want to pin and click the
bookmarklet. Go to Goodies (http://pinterest.com
/about/goodies/).
– Interact with other boards and pinners!
• Re-pin their pins
• Like them (2 kinds of “likes”)
• Share them
• Follow them (individual boards or people)
