  2. 2. <ul><li>Jan Brzechwa was born on 15 August 1900 r. in Żmerynka on Podol . </li></ul><ul><li>His real name was Jan Lesman. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>He was a lawyer and abowe all he dealt with the copyright. He was not only a poet, but also a translator. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>He devoted the majority of his works to children and young people. He was called the professor of the cordial smile . </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>He wrote a lot of satirical works. </li></ul><ul><li>All poems by Jan Brzechwa are full of the joke, the humor and the fantasy. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Every Polish child knows his poems .
  7. 7. In 1926 he announced his book of poems ‘ The first volume of children's poems &quot;A needle danced with the thread&quot; was issued in 1938 (including such a popular poems as &quot;Tomato&quot;,&quot;The crane and the heron&quot;, or &quot;stall&quot;).
  8. 8. <ul><li>The year after issuing the first volume with children's poems, there appeared, in 1939, the book &quot;Duck Freak&quot;(including such poems as: &quot;Punctuation marks&quot; and &quot;The Jay&quot;). Brzechwa also wrote: &quot;The Catfish&quot;, &quot;Mother hen&quot;, &quot;Lazybones&quot;, &quot;On Bergamuta islands&quot; and lots of other. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>The Second World War marks one of the most important periods in Brzechwa’s production. At that time he wrote such works as &quot;The Academy of Mr. Ink blot&quot;, which is the first parts of the trilogy about Mr. Ink blot, and &quot;Mr. Drop and his troupe&quot;. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Two books continuing the Academy Mr. Ink blot (&quot;The Travels of Mr. Ink blot &quot; and &quot;The Triumph of Mr. Ink blot&quot;) wrote in 1961 and in 1965. Pupils love the trilogy because of the main character’s peculiarity. </li></ul>
