2. Our topic (non-advancement of
sportspersons) describes the typical problem
faced by a newcomer sportsperson.
We are also going to discuss over a major
topic that why only few of the newcomer did
get the step towards their career of becoming
a sportsmen/women.
Our topic helps us to familiarize with the
indian sports and its current situation.
3. Here is the few examples that why non-advancement exist our
country-
Politics and corruption has found its way into
sports and makes it dirty.
Lack of good coach and infrastructure
available in our country.
Number of people who wants to be a
sportsmen/women is very high
4. Lack of support by the indian government
towards the sports.
Lack of role models in our country.
Poor infrastructure like old and lack of
grounds, lesser funds as compared to cricket
etc.
5. Now we discuss the non-advancement problems widely in this
section.
First of them is funds

6. Existence of political leader as administrative
in sports leads to exclusion of wrestling and
not to carry the indian flag in Sochi winter
Olympics 2014.
Scam of around 70000 crores in
commonwealth games 2010 in which several
political leader, businessmen, corporations
were involved.
7. Most of the stadiums are 25-30 year old with
no renovations and majority of stadiums is
less than 40000 in capacity.
Most people who occupied the positions of
Presidents and secretaries of federations in
sports/cricket for several decades do not
leave these lucrative positions even when
they are not eligible for them.
8. Improved sports governance- India lacks
good sports governance in all sporting bodies
and improving will be a challenging task, but
all sports bodies must have a constitution or
an code like the sports code which must be
strictly adhered too. A national sports
framework has to be created according to
which all sports federations should work.
9. Start grass root programs- a lot of nations
have programs where they pick up athletes
from the grass root levels at schools and
colleges and train them to become
professional sports persons. india does not
have any such program and it needs to start
one immediately. a lot of talent goes
unnoticed in India as there is no
administration there and very little
infrastructure. identifying and training
athletes from grass root levels and setting up
rehabilitation and training centres for them
will go a long way in establishing a sports
culture in India.
10. Public-Private partnership (PPP)- More tie ups
and partnerships are required between the
private and public sectors to invest in sports
infrastructure and athletes. more such
initiatives in sports will help it mobilize
funds.
There is a need of former sportspersons to
join the sports federations to make a good
infrastructure.
11. it’s time for non-sportspersons to leave their
positions and it should be filled by newly
joined former sportspersons.
Good infrastructure should be created in
school/college level so that they’ll get proper
chance to grow.
12. Some of them are-
Hero india super league (a football association
league)
Indian premier league (a cricket league)
Hockey india league (a professional hockey
league)
Indian boxing league
13. Indian wrestling league
Indian badminton league
Golf premier league
Ranji trophy
Elite Football League of India
and many more..
These leagues really help newcomer sportsperson to get a better
platform despite of other problem faced by them.
14. The football development cycle
In this circular cycle, one activity supports the other. The cycle can be
divided into two halves – the left half consisting of player development
and the right half comprising of the sport development.
15. National team
State teams and I league teams
District teams
town/city teams
School/college teams
