Cluster / Replication / Data Guard / Standby / Database Failover strategy

• Database Performance Tuning (L2)-Performance & Tuning concepts Concept of
cache, configuring & troubleshoot, assign objects to cache
• Table and index maintenance -Database Backup and Recovery (L2)-Plan and
Implement Backup and Recovery Methods Creating a Backup Plan & Recover Identify.
• Scheduling DB2 Partition Level Backup (RMAN / Native Tools), Data backup and
Data protection.
• Oracle Admin (L2)-Understand New Features in 10G.
• Generate Explain Plan, Interpreting TKPROF Output.
• Interpret Stats pack report. Familiar with init.ora parameters Create, Rename
a data base Partition Tables and Indexes Move databases between servers, plan
and size databases. Re-org of Database.
• Refresh Database using cold backup, Hot Backup & Export/import. Maintain

• Good knowledge of Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g database. Experience on 10g and 11g Rac,
10g Logical and Physical Dataguard. Experience in 10g & 11g upgrade. Database
installation, configuration and maintenance of the production environment
• Proactively monitoring the production databases
• Oracle version migration, patching and security management
• Database and SQL performance tuning
• Application of data fixes
• Assisting in the migration from test to production as it pertains to the
database
• Database refreshes of the test environments from production
• Database capacity planning
• Database backup and recovery
• Work with O/S group to configure, test and implement high availability
solutions
• Develop and maintain documentation of the production environment.
• Engage Oracle support for problem resolution when necessary
