My AQA GCSE DT: Graphics Revision Website By: Bhavana Saxena
Project Brief Basically, I have to design and create a website aimed at iGCSE level students taking the AQA course of DT: Graphics. The AQA logo
Project Aims   To design and create a website aimed at iGCSE level students taking the AQA course of DT: Graphics. It will be easy – to – use and aesthetically pleasing, as well as a very helpful revision aid for students. It should contain useful, key topics that are well laid out and explained in an easy – to – understand way. The website should serve as not only a revision aid before exams, but also a continuous aid through the course, in case students do not grasp a particular topic or have problems in their coursework for their end project.
Project Objectives Objective Why is this important? Search box For easy navigation – the website can be easy – to – use Diagrams / Pictures explaining key topics For easier understanding – students may learn better with pictures rather than paragraphs of writing Links to each page on the left – hand side of the website Provides fast, easy navigation Coursework tips So the website is helpful A page on each topic / unit of the AQA book So the website is helpful, and adheres to the examination requirements Colour coding, based on units Makes it aesthetically pleasing and also makes the website easier to use Short videos showing practical work Easy and effective way to get across messages that are hard to write about Links to other AQA approved revision websites/ materials (e.g. quizzes)/ practice papers Reliable extra material for further help for students General tips on exam revision General advice to help the students in a stressful time – in case they are not used to examinations Introductory page explaining the AQA Graphics course and exam Gives general overview of what the students should expect – makes them more comfortable with the course My personal objective is to learn how to make a website and do all the technical things above I think this will help me in other subjects and even later in life (e.g. in my future career)
The Client The client (the person for whom I will be making the website for) will be my DT teacher, Mr. Dewick. The end users will be Year 10 and 11 students taking the iGCSE DT Graphics course. It will be helpful to be able to interact with both my client and target users throughout my project, as they can help with continuous evaluations, improvements, problems and suggestions. This will ensure that they like the website and it suits what the client wants and the target market needs and can use.
