THE PRIME OBJECTS:
To ensure the scientifically and eco-harmless technological
development of leather processing in order to become
leather manufacture is one of the leading branches of
Mongolian light industry.
Historical data:
1970. Established under the name “Research and experimental center for leather and leather goods
industry” by the resolution #120 of the Council of Ministers of PR of Mongolia.
1976. The present building of corporation was built by the project DP MON 70-506, UNIDO of National
Committee of UN. The Research and Experimental Center of Leather Industry relocated in it.
1997. By the resolution #31 of Mongolian Government four different scientific organizations are combined
and enlarged under the name “ARMONO” Corporation.
1999. The Wool research center was separated from the ARMONO and transferred to Mongolian Science
and Technological University (MSTU) by the Joint order А/70/257/406 of Minister of Education, Chairman of
State Property Committee and Minister of Trade and Industry.
2000. The Institute of Light Industry was separated and transferred to MSTU by the Resolution #406 of State
Property Committee.
2006. The Research and training center of Forestry and Wood was separated and transferred to MSTU by
the Resolution #36 of Mongolian Government.
At present the ARMONO Corporation consists from leather research department, accriditated
laboratories, experimental units and officials of administration, finance, engineering and technical staffs. All
together 25 employees.
