WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION
MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT AND WHY?

ANSWER:
Bauer Media would be the best media institution to
distribute my media product. I have researched
Bauer beforehand and managed to get a lot of facts
and statistics with their history and how many
viewers they attract. For example, their magazine
heritage dates back to 1952; they are a long running
company and the reason why they are is because
they’ve managed to know what their readers want,
interacted with them and keep them entertained
throughout the years.
This quote taken from Bauer reflects how they run their
institution and how serious they are in making sure that
they are successful. “This includes knowing what is
going to be popular tomorrow, today.” Since my
magazine mostly focuses on new artists, Bauer will
persuade the audience to make these new artists/bands
in my magazine gain mass attention. They also try to
make media products accessible for everyone so
anyone can easily have access whether its on paper or
online.
SYNERGY AND CONVERGENCE:
Bauer Media reaches over 22 million UK adults (15+) every
weeks, the reason being is they use convergence in order to
gain this many people to invest or take interest in them. As you
can see above, they have used synergy by having multiple
ways to connect with their fans, not just magazines. I would like
them to distribute my magazines as my magazine can also lead
my target audience to interact or keep updated with my
magazine ‘Rising Stars’ in different ways such as radio, digital
and TV. This gives them a selection to connect with my
magazine as my target audience are mostly prosumers.
