Be Aware of Email Cheating
One of our customers-the biggest purchaser in Mongolia suddenly contacts us
for an emergence. They said that one of their venders in china cheating on them
received the money and not shipping the cargo.
As a friend, we helped them to call the Chinese guy to see what going on, and
we are shocked by this story.
Weeks ago, they placed the order to the factory, and paid 20% for down
payment, and the factory arranged the manufacturing. After finished, the
factory sent them a picture and pushes them to pay the rest money.
The picture sent by the factory's email adds, and then the factory used same
email adds inform our customer to pay money to a new account number. It's
quite close and in same email adds, so our customer did not doubt it, and paid
to the account directly.
Then the strange things happened, factory refuse to ship the cargo because of
not receiving the money. Our customer sent them the TT Slip, they found the
account number changed and they said they never ask our customer to change
the account number.
Now all clearly, the hacker tracking their come and go emails and insert in at the
"right time", stolen the money, and go away. Our customer lost about 40
thousand USD, even worse, it involves in China, Mongolia and Hong Kong, 3
country, it's hard define the places that the crime happened, so it's very hard to
find a police agent look into this case
Nowadays, the hacker's tech improved fast, and the cheater's method improved
fast too, we have to be more and more careful. In this case, how smart are the
cheater!!
