1. How do you think the enterprise content management practices of an organization without formal enterprise content management can be evaluated? According to the story above about enterprise content management (ECM) has a strategy, method and tools that can be capture, manage, store, preserve, and delivering content along with documents that are related to organization process. In addition, if a company has an IT person and he/she doesn't have any-type of training nor education on how (ECM) operate it can make the job difficult. I can see why many companies find their selves missing out on a huge growth, especially when it comes to international companies. However, the problem is that many companies feel intense because of the governance and regulatory guidelines. So it take's them longer to update their system or even add the ECM data due to the cost. The best practices of an organization without formal enterprise content management that can be evaluated would be "cloud-based". Cloud-based allow users to be able to access to software application that can run off the same internet, and computer resource. This will help kept track of any information that the clients may have. It's also a platform of many challenges, by having high-speed tech and can be accessible from anywhere. So in other words No it will not be wise to management a company without formal ECM.
2.What steps should be followed to properly evaluate an organization's enterprise content management practices? In order to follow proper steps to evaluate. It would be best to Evaluate Cost Compare the Value, Determine the amount of Complexity, Proper levels of Security, Find Resources, and Business need and Technology. most likely a problem for organizations enterprise content
management infrastructure is called "Unstructured Document
Formats". "Documents come in many layouts, from simple,
structured forms to free form text on a page. If you're only
processing structured forms in standardized formats, you're
getting a percentage of the benefit of automation, but not the
3. full potential. Processing unstructured, free form document
layouts requires costly manual processing, which is error and
expensive" (Benjamin Antin, 2018). And also this type of
format will help make keep things in order and easy to use over
an over again. Instead of recreating the same format every time
you need information.

How do you think the enterprise content management practices
of an organization without formal enterprise content
management can be evaluated?
4. First of all, I found this question a bit confusing, and really
hard to research. But I came to the conclusion that this
question addressed the difference between management of
current information of an organization and the organized and
systematic collection and organization of information (aiim,
n.d.), and how to evaluate this information at hand.
All information and content management practices can be
evaluated, the difference is that an organization that thinks it
has control over its information without formal Enterprise
Content Management (ECM), may either lose lots of time by
duplicating information, lose storage valuable storage space,
possibly even clients and business.
What steps should be followed to properly evaluate an
organization’s enterprise content management practices?
So how do you evaluate the current ECM, and what steps should
be taken? Just like a formal ECM, any ECM in existence needs
to be evaluated for its core components. The core components
are Capture, Management, Storage, Preservation, Delivery
(M.U.S.E, 2019). It is equally important to evaluate how the
data, content and documents are handled, to identify each
component, and if and how they work with one another. The
evaluation of the system is there to identify weaknesses as well
as the strengths, and what improvements can be made.
Select 1 of the most likely problem areas of an organization’s
enterprise content management infrastructure, and discuss how
the difficulties could be overcome.
Although there may be many areas that could be addressed in an
organizations ECM infrastructure, the one I am focusing on is
the document disorganization in quality management (Laureys,
2019). Document control is a vital function in a business, and
if not properly managed can cause serious consequences such as
loss of business, business closure, which will create loss of
jobs. To avert this possibility, it is pertinent for an
organization to organize all documents, develop policies and
5. procedures to create/update them, establish proper disposal
procedures of outdated and expired documents, as well as a
centralized location within the ECM with access to all
individuals in need of the information. In addition, it is
pertinent for all parties involved to be have knowledge of all
changes that are conducted, to ensure success of the program.
