1. What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease that affects the ability
of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each
other effectively
MS is most often diagnosed in young adults, aged 15 to 40
MS can cause loss of balance, impaired speech, extreme fatigue,
double vision, cognitive impairment, and paralysis
Most people with MS continue to walk and function at work with
minimal disability for 20 or more years

Seek emotional support and technical advice from
people and organizations like the MS Society of Canada
