One of the buzz words in the Information Technology is the Internet of Things (IoT). In coming years, IoT will transform the objects which are present in the real world into virtual objects. IoT keep us informed about the status of objects and controls of things in a sensor network. Sensor node comprises of the sensor, microcontroller and RF transceiver. A microcontroller is an integrated circuit which basically performs one task and executes a particular application. It contains programmable in/out peripherals, memory, and processor. Microcontrollers are mostly designed in view of embedded and are used to automatically controllable systems. In digital system design microcontrollers and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), both are widely used. Microcontroller based devices are becoming increasingly widespread. On one hand, high speed, power, and falling prices make them an obvious choice whereas fast growing popularity of FPGAs, the availability of powerful development tools and the increase in speed and high density have made FPGA based systems an alternative choice. Sensor node controller is going to develop using VHDL with behavioral modeling which is an abstract model of the controller and breaks down of the system into subcomponents and functional blocks.

As many of the industries use induction motors. So, controlling of induction motor plays a very vital role. So, our project concentrates on controlling the speed of induction motor using Android phone remotely by the help of the Bluetooth technology. We use Android application which uses Bluetooth to connect to the Bluetooth modem of control circuit which is connected to the motor. Bluetooth modem is interfaced with microcontroller. The Bluetooth slave modem receives the command from the mobile phone. The Bluetooth modem sends the signal to the Microcontroller. The Microcontroller decodes the signal and sends to the relays. Then, respective relay operates to change the speed of Induction motor from 0% to 100%. We are not only controlling the speed of the Induction motor, using feedback network we can also detect the over temperature, high voltage, low voltage, MCB tripping on account of any faults. And we are also adding an extra application which is very important in industries. That is, monitoring of phase lines. Because these types of uncertainties like over temperature, high voltage, low voltage etc are likely to happen in Industries. So, this project will be very helpful in industries, house hold, shopping malls etc.

This paper proposes the design of Inter of Things (IoT) based home automation system using Raspberry pi. Currently in day today’s life we can hardly find a house without a home automation system. This project is intended to construct a home automation system that uses any mobile device to control the home appliances. This home automation system is based on IoT. Home automation is very exciting field when it uses new technologies like Internet of Things (IoT). Raspberry pi is credit card size computer. Raspberry pi supports large number of peripherals. Raspberry pi is having different communication media like Ethernet port, HDMI port, USB port, Display Serial Interface, Camera Serial Interface, Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy. It allows controlling number of home appliances simultaneously. Here local server is created on Raspberry pi. The data will be communicated to the NodeMCU board through the cloud when hit the Commands (Forward, Backward, Left, Right) buttons on the interface built in the MIT app. The gear motors then rotate in accordance with those values. This is done with the L298N motor driver board. The speed of these motors may also be changed via the MIT app's slider.
