A 5-member team participated in a 3-day hackathon with the goals of creating a single view of IP and traceroute roots using ATLAS and looking glass data. They faced challenges including some looking glass sites not allowing scripting, lack of initial ATLAS account credit, time constraints, Python version differences, and JSON encoding issues. The outcomes included prototyping a UI using demo data to display traceroute and ping outputs on a GUI timeline. They successfully used the ATLAS API and presented demo screens of their work.

o Using ATLAS and looking glass to get a worldwide view
of tracert routes and ping commands from locations
round the world.
o Achievement:
o We have a backend API that can aggregate the ATLAS
data.
o We have a webpage to display the results in table, graph
and geo.

3. CHALLENGES
o All Looking Glass sites does not allow scripting hence it was
put as a manual file upload.
o ALTAS account credit was not available at first and Shaun
managed to get some assistance from Mr. Anuragh
o Time was the greatest challenge and we could not over some
it.
o Paython 2.7 vs paython 3
o SCAPY doesn't work on Windows 10 (WSL)
o JSON encoding problems

4. OUTCOMES
o Use of demo data to prototype a UI that would behave
the way we had envisioned it to work. <Demo>
o Tracert and Ping output on a GUI which showed a
timeline indicating the round trip time of each hoop.
o Successfully using the ATLAS API.
