- 2. INTRODUCTION Anthony Freddura, an experienced business systems analyst living in Massachusetts, is heavily involved in his church, Grace Chapel in Lexington. By playing the guitar with the worship team at Grace Chapel, Anthony Freddura is able to use his musical gifts to bless others. In addition to dynamic worship services, Grace Chapel offers members several ways to receive care during difficult seasons in their lives. One such program is called GriefShare. GriefShare is a 13 week program designed to help people who are grieving the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. By meeting with others who are walking through grief, participants experience community and fellowship alongside others who understand loss and grief.

GRIEFSHARE Participants in GriefShare receive Biblical teaching each week through video seminars covering topics such as the challenges of grief, the journey of grief, anger, grief’s effect on relationships, and heaven. These teaching sessions are then discussed in a support group format where participants share their experiences and support one another. A workbook aids in weekly personal study and reflection, allowing members of the group to journal their thoughts, observations, and emotions. Though many participants are initially nervous about joining a GriefShare group, most find the experience to be very beneficial. While growing closer to others, they also grow in their relationship with God and realize that even after experiencing loss, they can live with hope.
