3.  My topic for today’s presentation is LOC and
Kashmir .
 So, my first step is to give the introduction
about Kashmir- a land of paradise.

4. • Introduction
• The state of Jammu and Kashmir is spread over
an area of 2,22,236 square kilometers .
• Jammu and Kashmir is bordered in north by
China and west by Pakistani city of Rawalpindi
and on North Western side by Afghanistan.

5. LOC – LINE OF CONTROL
The break in fighting was intended to be
temporary, but the Line of Control
remains the military control line
between the Indian and Pakistanicontrolled parts of the state of Jammu
& Kashmir.

6. Division of Kashmir
 The state was divide in two parts during
1947 and then again a large part of the
land was severed during 1965 IndoChina war.
 The state consists of three parts Indian controlled
Kashmir (IcK),
Pakistan controlled Kashmir

7. Kashmir’s controlled area
• In order of percentage, 48 per cent
of the area is under Indian
occupied, 35 per cent is under
Pakistan and rest 17 per cent is
under control of China.

8. What have been recently done for Kashmir
controversy?
• In January 2004, Indian Prime Minister
Atal Behari Vajpayee and Pakistani
President Pervez Musharraf agreed on a
process of normalizing relations between
the two countries and resolving the
Kashmir problem.
• Pakistan and India government have tried
their best for Kashmir problem but there
were fail because of unexpected terrorism
activities.

9. War
• Three major wars
between India and
Pakistan have been
fought over the Kashmir
territory
– 1947-1948
– 1965
– 1971
• A fourth war almost took
place when Pakistan
invaded and attempted
to capture Kargil.

14. • Pakistani Army Breaches LOC kills 2 Indian soldiers
( Poonch – Krishna valley).
• One Indian Army jawan beheaded both bodies
badly multilated.
•The Indian government does not take
any action.
