2. PROBLEM 2:
Rodeo went to motorcycle dealer to buy a motorcycle.
He wanted the same motorcycle that his friend Tony
bought the day before, which had a sticker price of Php
15,000. The sales man said he could give a discount and
offered Rodeo a significantly reduced price. But Paul knew
that Tony have receive a 30 % discount, and the sales man
was offering him only a 20% discount. When he pointed
out that his friend had receive a 30 % discount the day
before, the sales man took another 10% off the 20%
discounted price. Rodeo was satisfied with the new price
and bought the motorcycle, thinking he had paid the same
price as Tony. Was he right? Did they both pay the same
price?
3. STEP 1 : What are we trying to find?
We will try to find if Rodeo had
really paid the same price as Tony.

• Rodeo and Tony had paid different price
for the motorcycle. Tony paid Php 10, 500
from the 30 % discount while Rodeo paid Php
10, 800 from the 20 % discount plus 10 % off
the 20 % discounted price. Therefore, Rodeo
was wrong for thinking that he had paid the
same price as Tony.
