Before we get into the recent Google SEO Update, let’s talk a bit about getting your content indexed. I actually have a really great story to tell you about this. The very very first website I ever made years and years ago was a yoga niche website. And actually it was a complete failure, I know nothing about yoga, I know nothing about that market, and I basically just jumped right in not knowing what I was doing and listening to a lot of really bad information. So I went ahead and spent a whole bunch of resources and time building the site, getting content created, the whole deal. And then the battle that I had was trying to get the content that I had indexed by Google.
I’m not exaggerating to you but I spent literally days to weeks pinging, linking, doing everything you could possibly imagine to get Google to not only crawl my website but also index it. I’m not talking about ranking content or ranking the page, I’m just talking about them just indexing it just so they have it indexed.

Andrew here f or LeanMeanMarketing.com. In today’s video we’re going to talk about the recent Google Update
along with a f ew tips about getting your content indexed. Let’s get right to it.
Bef ore we get into the recent Google SEO Update, let’s talk a bit about getting your content indexed. I actually
have a really great story to tell you about this. The very very f irst website I ever made years and years ago was
a yoga niche website. And actually it was a complete f ailure, I know nothing about yoga, I know nothing about
that market, and I basically just jumped right in not knowing what I was doing and listening to a lot of really bad
inf ormation. So I went ahead and spent a whole bunch of resources and time building the site, getting content
created, the whole deal. And then the battle that I had was trying to get the content that I had indexed by
Google.
I’m not exaggerating to you but I spent literally days to weeks
pinging, linking, doing everything you could possibly imagine
to get Google to not only crawl my website but also index it.
I’m not talking about ranking content or ranking the page, I’m
just talking about them just indexing it just so they have it
indexed.
That was only half of the battle. Af ter it was obviously
indexed, trying to get that content ranked was extremely
dif f icult. That example was a niche website with low quality
content and very low quality value. And even years and years
ago when it was easier to trick Google, it was still dif f icult
even then.
Let’s f ast f orward today and discuss
LeanMeanMarketing.com which is the newest site I’m working
on and we’re using a completely dif f erent content creation
strategy and promotion strategy. Now when the site was
brand new and we were f irst posting to it, we didn’t ping, we didn’t do anything to notif y Google; we wanted
everything to happen naturally.
It was taking between two to f our days f or Google to crawl and index our content which still isn’t too bad, it’s
better than several weeks but it was still taking days. And at a minimum it was still taking a f ew days f or them to
crawl and index it which is still obviously a long time.
Yesterday we created the written post f or LeanMeanMarketing.com which is the very f irst one and we published
that post at 12:15. At 12:58, I had a Google alert message saying that the content had already been spidered
2. and it had been indexed, less than 45 minutes af ter publishing it. I didn’t ping it, I didn’t do any type of
notif ication other than just tweeting it and you know spreading it on our social networks. But we didn’t do any
type of pinging or any type of aggressive strategy to get Google to notice the site. We let it all happen
naturally. What we’re starting to notice now is that as LeanMeanMarketing produces more content, creates
more authority, and builds more trust, not only is our content getting indexed f aster but it’s also being ranked a
lot better too, right out of the gate.
The strategy that we’re using on LeanMeanMarketing.com is the exact thing we’re going to teach in
ActivateTraf f ic, which is our traf f ic generation course. It was supposed to be released this past Monday but
obviously with the recent Google Update this week, we wanted to just give it a little more time just to make sure
that the teachings in the course were still going to be valid. And they are; we reviewed our sites, we reviewed
our data, and we can see that f or the most part our rankings have either stayed the same or increased.
We haven’t seen any detrimental decrease or deterioration. It’s saf e to sign up f or ActivateTraf f ic.com and
learn the exact traf f ic generation system we’re using on LeanMeanMarketing and some of our other small sites
to take them f rom brand new domain names to powerf ul authority sites.
Just bef ore we wrap up today, Google did release another update this week and it’s actually a pretty big one.
It’s Panda 2.0, the number of queries af f ected is almost equal to the number of queries af f ected by the f irst
Panda update. It’s substantial and there’s going to be a lot of websites that will be af f ected. If you haven’t
checked that yet or if you’ve noticed that your traf f ic has decreased or if you’ve noticed some irregularities in
your reporting, that’s something you should be looking into immediately because chances are you’ve been
af f ected by it in some way.
If you haven’t signed up f or ActivateTraf f ic yet, go ahead and do that. There’s no cost to sign up and you’ll get
some f ree resources too as soon as we launch, regardless if you buy it or not you’ll still get the f ree
resources. Then check your own stats and data and analytics, see if any of your web properties have been
af f ected by this change this week by Google.
Again, this is Andrew Hiddleston f or LeanMeanMarketing.com. I hope you f ound this usef ul and I’ll talk to you
soon.
