MATERIALS :

   BITUMEN : 60/70 Grade

   ABS      : Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

   PVP   : Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone

   PVA   : Polyvinyl Alcohol

   Waste polymer
PREPATION OF POLYMER MODIFIED
BITUMEN:

                                          ADDITION OF
    BITUMEN           1600C
                                           POLYMER


                                        600 to 650 rpm




   POLYMER MODIFIED                          STIRRING USING
       BITUMEN                             MECHANICAL STIRRER

                              4 hours
PREPARATION SETUP
PREPARED SAMPLES:


   ABS Polymer modified bitumen of 3%, 5%, 7% samples were
    prepared.

   Similarly preparation of polymer modified bitumen
    samples with PVA, PVP & waste polymer for 3%, 5% and 7%
    was prepared.
STRIPPING TEST:


            1600c               1600c




 50 grams           2.5 grams               2 hrs




                                   24 hrs
BENEFITS OF PMB:

   Fatigue resistance increases.

   Thermal cracking decreases.

   Stability increases.

   Viscoelastic property of bitumen is modified positively.

   Decreases the total cost of pavements.

  • 6. PREPARED SAMPLES:  ABS Polymer modified bitumen of 3%, 5%, 7% samples were prepared.

  • 8. STRIPPING TEST: 1600c 1600c 50 grams 2.5 grams 2 hrs 24 hrs
  • 9. BENEFITS OF PMB:  Fatigue resistance increases.  Thermal cracking decreases.  Stability increases.  Viscoelastic property of bitumen is modified positively.  Decreases the total cost of pavements.
