This document describes a traditional home in an equatorial climate, known as a Togo house. It is made from natural local materials like mud, hay, wood and bamboo to withstand the very hot and humid weather. Extended families typically live together in the large clay structures, which feature many rooms. While able to provide shelter, the author would prefer not to live in such a home due to the extreme climate.
