view of the project our class is
working on
2. Overview of Our Project
• This presentation will inform you of our
upcoming project. The project is titled Native
Americans of Alabama. This project allows
students to work with their piers to pick a tribe
and learn the government, community, and
daily lives of the tribe. The activities will be
guided by the following objectives:
1. Your child will complete a project on an
Alabama tribe of their choice in class.
2. Students will work in groups to learn about
their tribe.
3. Students will use technology to learn about
their tribe
3. Expected Roles of Students and
Parents
• Students will be expected to work with their group members to research
their tribe, create a visual aid, and write a report. Students will need to
think about the following questions when doing their projects:
• Essential Question:
1. What is Alabama History?
Unit Question:
1. What are some key factors in Alabama History?
2. Who are some key people in Alabama History?
Content Questions:
1. What Native Americans Lived in Alabama?
2. What duties did their everyday lives consist of?
3. What were the types of governments amongst the Native Americans?
• The students will have a month to complete their projects. At the end of
the month each group will present their tribe to the class.
• Parents are welcomed to come see their child present his or her project.
4. Benefits of Project-Based Learning
• Provides students with an opportunity to work
with their piers
• Allows students build 21st century skills
• Students will learn about Native American
tribes that lived in Alabama.
• Promotes creativity and project-based
learning
