2. He was an American clergyman, activist, and
leader in the Africa-American Civil Rights
movement.
3. He lived in Atlanta & attended Booker T.
Washington High School. He skipped the
ninth & twelfth grade. He entered more house
college at the age of 15 without formally
graduating from high school.
4. Then he married a woman named Coretta
Scott on June 18, 195 on the lawn of her
parent’s house in her home town in
Heiberger, Alabama.
5. In December 1955, they made Rosa Parks
moved to the back of the bus but she did not
move so they arrested her.
But the Montgomery bus boycott , urged &
planned the Nixon & it was led by King.
6. Then at 6:00 p.m. April 4, 1968, he was shot
rang out as king stood on the motel’s
second-floor balcony.
The bullet entered through his right cheek,
smashing his jaw, then traveled down his
spinal cord before lodging in his shoulder.
7. After emergency chest surgery, king was
pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital at
7:05pm.
King's autopsy revealed that though only 39
years old, he "had the heart of a 60 year old",
which Branch attributed to the stress of 13
years in the civil rights movement.
8. King, representing the SCLC, was among the
leaders of the so-called "Big Six" civil rights
organizations who were instrumental in the
organization of the March on Washington for
Jobs and Freedom, which took place on
August 28, 1963.
