Children are the real treasure of a country and its future.
Sadly, life for Ukrainian children with special needs can
be harsh and bleak. Specifically, the absence of early
childhood intervention programs, shortages of
educational materials and resources, poor access to
sign language, and lack of hearing aids limit the
educational opportunities and life choices of deaf and
hard of hearing persons.
Signed language was banned in the Soviet Deaf
Education since 1950
Canada-Ukraine Alliance for Deaf &

Canadian deaf children and their families. The Alliance is
a network, both in Canada and in Ukraine, of individuals,
  educational institutions, community organizations and
corporations that are working with deaf and hard of
  hearing people. JOIN US!
Canada-Ukraine Alliance for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons

and computers for schools and kindergartens for the deaf in
    Ukraine

• Through partnership we facilitate a transformation in
attitude towards deaf persons and their role in Ukrainian
    society:
• ♦ deaf people are neither deficient as human beings,
    nor incapable of contributing to society;
• ♦ they are capable of great accomplishments and
can be leaders at home and abroad.
• We want to enable parents to believe and ensure that
their deaf children can have successful and prosperous
    futures.
