1. CHRISTMAS RECIPE
CHRISTMAS BUTTER COOKIES
INGREDIENTS: - 120 gr. butter
- 70 gr. powdered sugar
- 210 gr. flour
- 2 egg yolks
FOR DECORATION: - plain chocolate
- egg white
- 200 gr. powdered sugar
- lemon juice
- cooking colouring
STEPS
1. Melt the butter in a bowl until it is like pomade.
2. Add the powdered sugar, the egg yolks and the flour, mixing them. Mix all the
ingredients and make a ball with them.
3. Spread the ball on an even surface where you'll have previously spread some
flour, with the aid of a rolling pin.
4. Cut the biscuits into Christmas shapes using different moulds (stars, trees,
reindeers, hearts, gingerbread men and so on).
5. Put the biscuits on a baking tray and bake them for a period of 10-15 minutes
till they are golden. The oven should have the grill and the bottom on and a
temperature of 180º C
6. Take them out of the oven when they are slightly brownish and leave them to
cool down before you touch them to take them out from the tray.
7. You may want to decorate them. Use melted plain chocolate to put on them or
cover them with icing coloured sugar. Mix the egg white, the lemon juice, the
sugar and the colourings to get coverings with different colours. Once on top of
the biscuits, leave them to dry for some minutes.
8. Now you can eat them or use them as decorations for your Christmas tree (if
you bake them as decorations, remember to make a hole on them in order to
be able to hang them on the tree later on; use a drinking straw to punch a hole
on the pastry before baking them).
