2. We see all the different names. There is a
day spa, medical day spa, spas at resorts
and the hotel spa. So, what is the
difference between all of these spas
3. Medical Spa
A medical day spa if very different from a regular spa or the type
of place you would visit while on vacation or at a resort. A
medical day spa has a licensed physician on staff at all times. This
physician will be in charge of overseeing all treatments that take
place at that location. When there is a licensed physician on the
premises treatments can be performed that cannot take place in
a regular spa.
4. Regular Spa
A regular spa is limited to what treatments that they
can actually provide to their clients. Not that this is
always a bad thing but if you are looking for
something like Botox or another filler then they will
not be able to perform these treatments at a regular
spa.
5. The following treatments should only be
offered to customers under a doctor's
supervision:
• Chemical Peels
• Injectables
• Laser Treatments
• Microdermabrasion
6. When you want the services of a medical day spa be sure
to ask questions. These questions can be a matter of life
and death. Ask if there is a licensed physician on staff and
ask to meet with the physician. If you have questions write
the down and keep them for when you go for your first
appointment. Ask how the instruments are sterilized. Look
around and check to see how clean the area is. If you have
a bad feeling or see something you are not comfortable
with, look for a new medical day spa before receiving any
type of treatment.
