The Lumia 520 continues to remain the post popular device but it still losing market share while the 630 and 535 are gaining. We see a surprising increase in the number of devices already running Windows 10. Plus we look at Mexico, UK, Finland, Estonia, Russia, India and Australia

3. Data Source This report is based on data collected from 5,339 Windows Phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of May 14th, 2015 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated. We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model name variations were not accounted for. AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Phone and Windows Store apps and games empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each other. AdDuplex was established in January 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. As of May 2015, more than 10,000 apps actively use AdDuplex to gain more visibility.

5. Windows Phone Devices Worldwide May 14th, AdDuplex Microsoft’s Lumia 535 is the biggest change this month and it’s a growth of 1.5% in worldwide market share in the last month. This growth has come at the expense of the 520 which has lost 1.5%. 7. OS Versions – Worldwide May 14th, AdDuplex WP 8.1 grows again this month getting ever closer to 75% of all Windows Phone devices. WP8.0 and 7.X have dropped 2.3% and 1% respectively. The surprising figure is the number of devices running Windows 10. 8. Windows Phone Devices – US May 14th, AdDuplex A 3% increase for the Lumia 635 show the continued popularity for this device. A 1.4% drop both for the 521 and the 520 show the decline in popularity of these once dominant devices. 9. Windows Phone 8.x Operators – US May 14th, AdDuplex Boost Mobile see an increase of 0.9% since last month to leap frog over MetroPCS to be the fifth most popular US operator. All others stay in the same order with small growth for AT&T and cricket and a small decrease for T-Mobile and Verizon. 10. Windows Phone Devices – Mexico May 14th, AdDuplex We last looked at Mexico in February. Reflecting the global pattern, the big change is that the 520 has lost 1.9% but the 530 has gained the same amount. Mexico has traditionally stood out as a market with a higher than average proportion of devices running 7.X. 11. Windows Phone Devices – UK May 14th, AdDuplex Unsurprisingly the 520 has seen a 3.4% drop in the last three months. More of a surprise is that both the Lumia 630 and Lumia 530 have both seen drops, of 0.8% and 0.6% respectively. 12. Windows Phone Devices – Finland May 14th, AdDuplex It’s been over a year since we looked in depth at Finland and in that time much has changed. Windows Phone Devices – Spain May 14th, AdDuplex The order of devices in the Spanish TOP-10 remains pretty much unchanged, with only Lumia 710 being phased out slowly and Lumia 535 entering the chart. 14. Windows Phone Devices – Russia May 14th, AdDuplex The Lumia 630 continues to grow in Russia, up 1.7% in the last two months. 15. Windows Phone Devices – India May 14th, AdDuplex The Lumia 535 has overtaken the 520 this month to become the most popular device in India. This is mostly due to the 520 losing 2% share since April. There are no other changes to the order of the rest of the top ten. 16. Windows Phone Devices – Australia May 14th, AdDuplex Australia has a breakdown of devices that is again different from all other countries we’ve looked at. The Lumia 520 has lost almost half of it’s market share in the last six months with the 530 growing by almost the same amount (11.8%). The 1020, in seventh place and with over 5% market share, is a surprise entry as it wasn’t in the top ten at the end of last year.
