Data Source
This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps running
AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of
June 26th, 2017 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.
We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names
under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model
name variations were not accounted for.
AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Store apps and games
empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each
other. AdDuplex was established in January 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. As of June
2017, more than 10,000 apps actively use AdDuplex to gain more visibility.
Surface Devices
June 26th, AdDuplex
Two new Surface devices
shipped less than 2 weeks
ago, and we see them on the
chart already. Looks like
familiar Surface Pro has
some edge over brand new
Surface Laptop, but it is
probably too early to make
any conclusions.
Surface Pro 4 continues to
dominate Microsoft’s PC
lineup.

Creators Update continues to
propagate on PCs worldwide,
but a moderate pace. It
seems to be inline with how
Anniversary Update spread,
but we’ve approached the
infliction point (2-3 months in)
when AU went full speed and
jumped from 35% to over
75% in one month. Next
month we will see if this pace
will be repeated with
Creators Update.

Creators Update on Surface Devices
June 26th, AdDuplex
If we take a look at Creators
Update velocity on the
Surface devices, we can see
a very clear outlier – Surface
Pro 3. Only 22% of SP3s are
running Creators Update,
and I can confirm
(anecdotally) that my SP3
wasn’t offered CU yet.
Other than new devices that
come with CU pre-installed,
Surface Book seems to be
the most up-to-date Surface
model.

Windows 10 Mobile is now
on more than 20% of
Windows phones, but it’s
likely caused by Windows
Phone 8.x users abandoning
their phones for other
platforms, rather than any
increase in W10M sales.
With Facebook Messenger,
and now Skype, abandoning
WP8 it’s not unlikely that this
trend will accelerate as time
goes on.
