What is the point in sponsorship for Events?
Since not much entry fee is collected, there is economical burden on the fest
because of purchase requirements, prize money etc. Sponsorship of events can
avoid this, and therefore is being given a lot of preference this time. Since the
cultural events being held in Riviera are of good quality, companies and
businesses would definitely be willing to sponsor individual events or a number
of events in a category. This can be realised if a good effort is done in pursuing
sponsorship.
How can we elicit sponsors for an Event?
Sponsored events are being given a lot of preference this time. Event
coordinators should elicit their own sponsors with help from their volunteers
and friends. The sponsorship brochure will be mailed to you, which can be used
to introduce Riviera to potential sponsors. VIT University has a very diverse
student population. There’s a huge probability that you may know someone
with potential to get a sponsor. Event co-ordinators are requested to network
with volunteers and friends and obtain contacts.
There is a field called “Previous occurrence of similar event” in the
form. Does that mean only events which were tried and tested earlier
be accepted?
5. No. New and creative events are very welcome and will be strongly
encouraged based on feasibility. This field was provided is only for co-
ordinators who might want to bring to our notice the history of the event, to aid
in selection.
It is reiterated again that new ideas are very welcome.
Am I allowed to have a 3rd Event co-ordinator?
A 3rd event co-ordinator may be allowed depending on the event.
What is “Prize distribution” and “turn-out”?
Prize distribution is the money assigned to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes separately.
Turn-out is the number of people who participated and the number of
audience.
Should I be calling a judge?
If your event has a lot of foot-fall, you can get a judge, based on a number of
considerations. Conversely, a famous person as a judge can attract people to
the event. If you’ve not decided on a person yet, mention what kind of
personality from which industry you’re planning on. Judges generally are paid,
and therefore it is a huge plus if you get sponsors for your event.
Whom do I contact if I have doubts in filling the form?
Drop an e-mail or SMS to the Organizers mentioned below. If there’s really a lot
to tell, call one of them.
