The colour pitch black is great when representing thriller, its gives us the views a sence that we want to know what through it, and why is it in the dark. The police cars driving towards us again helps to tells us something is not right , and because of the camera being placed in a low view shot, the cars seem bigger and superior than us, the conditions also help us to convey a scene of thriller, the dark skies and the water puddles , just makes the environment look dangerous run down, and the little spots of lights just make us wanting to see more, making us look beyond the darkness. And i fink this shot generalizes thrillers. A genre were there no hope darkness around, and just the little spots of lights which are they way out the solution, it also makes us to want and see more, entices us. Then by the use of editing it fades out, using dissolve tool, and cuts to another shot of a military camp and we can see the sky scrapers in the mist out of focus. This adds to the confusion everything is happing without us knowing, its like in the previous shot, when the car is driving towards us, and as it gets closer its starts to fade, this keeps the audiences intact in the movie , one of the components of a thriller.<br />Then it cuts to a shot a helicopter firing , and rapidly pans down to see the explosion, lots of quick shots from different angle. The massive fire, the building blowing up( in a crane shot to again capture the whole setting) , soldiers shooting parts of the house flying everywhere adds to the drama, tension. And all this action and fast cuts keeps the spectator thinking, keeps them anxious to see what happens next, maybe confused them, all of this is part of what a thriller does. Later on The rapid tracking shot the to side, there a depth of field shot , when the burning car is in the front in focus and as time goes by the mob at the back start to appear and change roles. This can show confusion within the people and the crazy atmosphere. The shot we get when we are positioned as the police man in his car. The camera is hand held that also helps to add to the realism and the excitement of us being there, as an audience being in the enter of the thrill.<br />The sound in this clip also adds to the tension, we wear a non deictic sound track , a fast violin sound that added wit the sound affects of the guns and people scream adds up to a real tense moment, there are also other sounds there to keep the views watching. The main sound is the narrator telling the story , but the spectator is need to work harder because we are placed to listen to the narrator and also listen out for the other sound affects and sound tracks, this is a brilliant way to do a thriller, keep the truth distorted .<br />1323975226060<br />
