1. Artist: Wafa Hourani
Artwork: Qalandia 2067
Date: 21/01/10
I selected this piece of artwork because it looked interesting; the use of colour and imitation on a village/city was amazing. The detail is incredibly close to reality and I really admired how he lit up the mini structured houses to make them look vacant. This artefact doesn’t really make me feel any specific emotions but it does look very interesting. I think it creates a gloomy atmosphere though due to the use of colour, but that’s not negative as the use of colour is relevant to the theme.
I think this represents the future, how houses are going to look. This artefact could be a set for an animated film or could be used as a stage prop. I think Wafa Hourani chose these materials because they best suited the theme and they are very good stable resources suitable for the structure of this artefact. This artefact inspires me to try my best to make my building look realistic and interesting to entertain my audiences and make them explore a range of possibilities.
