Editor's Notes

  • #2   Talk intro University Presses in Space (www.upinspace.org) was launched this past March 20th. This collaborative presentation of university press books on outer space and space exploration features books selected by the participating presses as their strongest space titles.   The MIT Press conceived of this simple joint promotion and worked to develop the idea with three partner presses: the University Press of Florida, Purdue University Press, and the University Press of Nebraska.   All AAUP member presses were then invited to join as participants.   Kaite will describe the process, the analytics, and next steps. We believe that space buffs, as well as general readers interested in space, don't stop at just one book. We believe that they appreciate the quality of university press publishing.  Thus we hope that the discovery experience provided by "University Presses in Space" will stimulate sales, both for the featured titles and the many more space books to be found on university press lists.
