My personal reward comes from general practice and I am passionate about improving my skills and
continuing medical education. I have expertise have special skills in chronic disease management.
 I am experienced in rural general practice and wish to work in such set up again.
 I have more recently attended the implementation of clinical skills courses at Glasgow through
Scotland UK Primary Care Trust targeted at General Practitioners.
 I do locums in NHS hospitals as on and off to remain abreast with current and modern practices for

Duties:
 Clinical duties involved the assessment of adult and paediatric presentations in the outpatient clinic
including treatment, investigations as well as further management decisions.
 Work in the emergency room on a rota of 1:3 and handling of emergencies like acute chest pain,
MI, CVAs, severe asthma, convulsions, DKA, shock, severe haemorrhage, severe gastroenteritis,
hypertension and trauma etc. ensuring appropriate initial management/ resuscitation etc.
 Performing emergency and minor surgical procedures and applying bandages, slabs, casts and
tractions. Clinical clerking in the inpatient wards, initiating treatment of new admissions, organizing
laboratory tests and other investigations and liaison with consultants from the various disciplines for
co-ordination and effective management of patient care.
 Daily ward rounds with consultants and management of patients in the wards
 Writing discharge summaries and organizing follow ups. Assisting at surgical operations in theatres
and pre and post operative care of the patients.
 Antenatal & postnatal care and neonatal resuscitation.
 Participation in case conferences and other educational activities.
G. JULY 1984 TO JUNE 1986 (PG Course Family Medicine - Hospital Rotations):
Duties:
 Attendance at structured weekly lecture program to complete the educational component and
rotational duties in affiliated hospitals in A&E (6 months), outpatient clinics, inpatient wards in
medicine and geriatrics (4 months), paeds (4 months), dermatology (2 months), eye (1 month), ENT
(1 month), obstetrics/antenatal clinic, clinical pathology lab, medical imaging, family planning clinic

Other than English (IELTS Band 7.5) I am fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Pushto that are the
major languages of the Indian Subcontinent. I can also understand Italian and can pick up /
understand Australian, Scottish, Welsh, American and Irish accents of English spoken language.
This gives me an upper edge if I come across such a patient who feels comfortable with me and I
am able to listen to his point of view, satisfy him accordingly and answer all his queries to relieve
his anxieties.
